Default Panther G

Here is my Tamiya Panther G that is getting close to being finished. It has the TBU but I'm at a loss as to where to put the IR LED.

Well that didn't work. I'll have to see why the link is not working.

Drill out a hole in the Mantlet for an IR emitter tube. Did mine through the existing main gun sight. If your looking to be tamiya compliant it needs to be 9mm deep to front of bulb and no wider than 6mm ID. These are the same specs as the stock tamiya clip on emitter holder. Vid worked for me. Nice build!

Thanks BennyB. I hate to drill that large of a hole in that expensive ETO mantlet. Maybe I'll just put it on the barrel using the supplied tube.

Know what your saying, but what's a bigger eye sore? A larger hole in your mantlet that you'll occasionally notice or that gaudy clip on and wire running out the back of it?
Whatever makes you happy though.

Yea, the clip and exposed wire is an eye sore alright.

Put the ir emitter in front of the barrel inside the tube. Flash behind it, that's the way I do my tanks.

Thank you sollie, it's been run. Typical Panther/Jagdpanther front track slop near the drive sprocket but thats fixable with a track adjustment. Happy with it.
