SPRING DANVILLE BATTLE WEEKEND MAY 20th - 23rd ...and Family Fun Day

Stop saying "maybe next year"..... and come join us all for the fun. Next year is NOW!!!

NEAD will be hosting the Spring 2016 RC Tank Battle Weekend at the American Armored Foundation Tank Museum in Danville Virginia. Link: http://www.aaftankmuseum.com/index.html

Gas is the lowest in years, the hotels here are very inexpensive and the RC tankers are great gentleman.

* Family Fun Day Saturday May 21 *
Vehicle Demos, Bounce House, Catch the Cannon
Ball, Face Painting, Radio Control Tank Battles

Special Appearances 11 am to 3 pm by
Iron Man and Scooby-Doo

For the past five years I have been offering a "Money Back Guaranty" for RC tankers. If you battle your RC tank and didn't have a great time...I will personally refund your admission cost. It is worth the trip just to see the 115 plus tank & displays in an all indoor museum. It is a third of a million square feet or military history. The RC tank battlefield is the best in the world.

If you haven't been to the AAF museum, this is the time to do it! Bring your family for a fun day and a historical one too.

Bob, is this a standard apple configuration and TFA for fix gun vehicles with a casemate?

Yes Troy it is.

Turret tank will run a regular Tamiya apple and Tank Destroyers / turret-less tanks will be TFA (Tamiya Frontal Armored). TFA means the inside reflecting prism is rotated 45 degrees to simulate a real Tank Destroyers additional armor plating. In CQB (Close Quarters Battle) under 10 feet the TD can be hit even with TFA.

PS your MF is en route.

I'll have my Panther F there and maybe a running Jagdtiger too if I can finish a few things on it. With a Clark board I doubt though I've only got a KT one and recently it started acting funny so idk about that one. I should however have something special instead I think you all will be pleasantly surprised at....

I am trying to finish up my nearly 3 year old effort (most of the time it sat idle on the bench) of the late production Panther G manufactured by M.A.N in April 1945 for the II./Pz.Rgt.21 and sent to Bavaria (Bayern) in April.

I want to bring something new to tear up but as time draws near it's not looking good.

(we'll see)

Sorry!! I try not to do that as much anymore
I'm mostly done with one of my projects, just finishing up a few things like rewiring and paint, the not so fun stuff. The Panther F will most likely be my running choice versus the JT, I really like the Panthers

I HATE that! You always seem to have plenty of time until right before when you notice you missed a few critical details or someone is out of stock of something

We missed you guys last time Troy. I had a Tamiya-Gen Jagdtiger there and it did VERY well for m. ZERO issues of any kind and I got many kills with it. You are welcome to try it out for yourself in a few short weeks.

Here it is:

Just come Jeff....that is all that matters. I always have spare tanks on hand. It has been too long since the last trip.

Hi Commander
Wouldn't mind coming up, but it's not going to happen this month, nor anytime soon.
Last time I was Stateside was 1990, during the lead up to Gulf War 1, (doing an aviation tour), remember seeing refurbished A10's at Tucson airport, having being retrieved from Davis Monthan, which we weren't allowed to visit - just had a bus ride around the perimeter fence.
Funny thing about that, we visited Canaveral, Patrick AFB, Wright Patterson, Edwards, Miramar etc with no problems, but got turned down at the Boneyard.

I won't be able to make this one. That new/old car I bought isn't sorted out the way I would like yet. Hoping for later this year
