Makes sense, just needed to work an upper, they already have all the components. After the last release they probably aren't looking to do a ground up tooling right away.

Good deal! I think they made the right choice of the Jagdpanzer versions as the long barreled vehicle will sell better. I really regretted selling my Profiline kit all because I wanted to use a Tamiya as the donor but it wasn't in the cards at the time. Now a new Tamiya kit is just in time too.

Maybe they'll follow with much more later and maybe I'll get that Brummbär back too! Hope to see a flakpanzer, the Nashorn, oh... and I think a

I know, right? The German stuff is hackneyed and way overdone. Nothing but boredom there. Why doesn't someone do a Churchill?

Christian Ludwig makes a semi kit for one.

I was visiting ASIATAM recently and noticed that they have more inventory of Profiline Kits.
They must have bought his molds and casting themselves.
I wonder if the quality will be the same?

Good job showing that link!

Hopefully the Tamiya kit is pretty detailed. Was their Panzer IV good in detailing compared to the Jagdpanther?

Jeff, I have a Tamiya Panzer IV. The detail is good, but I plan on bashing it with the Trumpeter Panzer IV H/J kit to get more detail. Considering an Aber update set for the Tamiya Tiger I is anywhere from $250-400 plus, a Trumpeter Panzer IV is a steal as an update kit for the Tamiya Panzer IV kit. Tower had the Trumpeter on sale with free shipping when I got mine for $230. Lots of scale spare tracks and other details not to mention six sheets of Photo Etch. I think DaveBCool or TheBenny has already started there Trumpeter/Tamiya bash.

Sounds like a good plan with the Trumpeter kit. So what's to become of the left over Panzer IV? Battlefield casualty?

I'm just glad to get another shot at a Lang AND it won't be like the Sturmtiger... adapting that resin superstructure to a donor vehicle, hours of research to ADD detail.

Hopefully it comes out by Christmas and I can shove it under the tree 4 me.

After the Tiger I, Tamiya seemed to relax on the details, sacrificing accuracy for RC engineering.

DML, Tristar and AFV Club have blown Tamiya armor away in 1/35 and Trumpeter in 1/16 so I would not expect much better in the Lang. The IV and Panther make nice models, but the clunky tool clamps are unforgiveable in this scale IMO.

The JS-2 was a nice change, more Tiger-like than the others. Tamiya is the standard in AC and ship models, but armor was their weak spot.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

$28 more than the IV. Not a big deal of an increase considering the time in-between.

I've never understood Tamiya's list pricing. I would have bought all the kits through my distributor, but even at wholesale it is higher than the normal street price. The JS-2 lists for slightly over $2000, yet I paid around $700 (plus shipping). Typical wholesale in this hobby is 50-60%.

It's a thumb in the eye to hobby shops that would want to put them on the shelf, since online undersells by a huge amount and the Tamiya suitcase is not a cheap shipping item.

Can't seem to click the link - how much is it in the U.S?

Germany reckons approx €650.

Very good. Looks nice.

94,800 yen is around €770 and £610.

Tempting but I do have a panzer IV to build.
