Thumbs up

Oh wow... metal wheels. Did the Panzer IV have them as well? I missed that then.

Good pics!

I have to think those metal wheels are part of someones custom build and not Tammy's.
The front fender is metal also, and screwed on.
Clearly not a stock kit.

Yea those look like our road wheels, but it is hard to tell. It looks like they might have hubcaps on them though, which would not be ours if so.

Generally, (especially with your first kit) build up the kit first and get everything working.
I leave off some smaller details, such as some hand tools to paint first then add later.
You may also want to leave off smaller moving parts such as hatches or travel locks so you can paint both sides and they don't get in the way.
Then partially disassemble to paint items separately for the primer and base colors.
Then remove and paint separately: Turret (sometimes main gun too), upper hull, lower hull, sprocket, idler, and road wheels without tires
Then add those elements back if doing camo pattern.

I have done it both ways. My prefered way for german armor is to PRIME in red oxide then assemble. I then paint the model before the running gear and tools are applied.

Yes on the glue and some good plastic safe lube for the gearboxes.

Tamiya is unique in that their RC kits are a combination of their static model arm and their RC arm. They assemble as easy as any static kit, yet they're engineered to last.

You'll need a few different glues on a full option kit: normal styrene glue (like Testors), a MEK or methyl chloride based (like Tamiya Extra Thin, Tenax, PlastiWeld) for the ABS and ABS to styrene and finally what they call rubber cement for the few instances where you'll be putting non plastic parts together like the MG LEG flasher to the barrel, but that cement can be anything from CA to PVA.

Tamiya uses ABS on their road wheels and high stress areas like the barrel to recoil connections. They tend to over engineer their stuff, I don't think it's necessary since they earlier full options didn't have a problem. No big deal, you just need to be aware so you don't expect a normal styrene glue to hold the few ABS parts. Everything is well marked on both the directions and the sprues.

You can use Tamiya Extra Thin on the whole model to be safe, but the stuff works so quickly and evaporates so fast that a normal tube of styrene glue is easier when applicable.

Both types work by melting the parts together, but ABS needs a stronger solvent.

you are looking for those , were produced by mk.modelle.de wich is out of business 5 years ago
this is mine

am now busy on an 251/1 ausf C uses ludwigs motordrive and ketten

it was an almost total conversion, the innerdetails of the mk modelle were quite wrong and lacks many futures the real ones had ... so i love details and busy now on four of them 1/16 full rc hanomags ausf D and C

these are different stages of the build , its straightforwarded those hanomag halftracks made of styreen , plastic melted as one body ... its fun ...for now

It looks as if Tamiya made the periscope traverse with the main gun, something i'm working on my Jagdpanther, will have to look into that. i noticed that they did not go and add the steel wheels to the tanks front for the extra weight of the gun.
