Default 1:16 Prifiline KV-122

I've decided for a very long time which model to build the next - Panzer IV, Sd.Kfz 250/9 or Sd.Kfz 223... And decided to build KV-122, that I purchase as a gift for my birthday.

The first work with metal:

I received the barrel and muzzle brake:

And made one more toolbox:

And made some damage to the first one:

Some tools:

Nice work so far Eddie! The Profiline KV-85 turret looks good!

I started mine out with the one from Juckenburg and according to a few sources there are a few subtle changes to be made for the 122 version but I forget them right now.

To me, the KV-122 looks so much better than the JS-2 does.

Looking good! I'm impressed with the photo-etch work. BTW...where did you find the miniature tools?

NICE WORK!
Did the upper half of a KV-85 a few years back and loved the look of the project before I gave it back to it's owner. That is a nice SOLID resin project. I think I was sanding and grinding resin for a whole week.

Hi, gents!
After some five years finally the work on my KV-122 moves on. I’ve ordered the correct turret from a master from Russia - Artem. He did a great job on it and now it works with Tamiya elevation and recoil units. Now I’m waiting for MFU and DMD from the UK. I swapped them to my first rc Kubelwagen.

The tools in the toolbox are very, very cool. Well, the whole thing is very, very cool, but the tools especially caught my eye. Can you tell us where you got those?

Looks great! Can you tell us the source of your various parts (websites)?

Also, it might be my connection, but it looks like the pictures from when you started the build have disappeared.

The main parts that I used on my KV-122 are the resin parts from the Juckenberg KV-85 kit, but later I got the correct turret and the part of the upper hull from guy from Russia - Artem Yegorov. You can find him on the Facebook :

He knows about the Russian WW2 armor almost everything.
The Aber toolboxes we’re bought on the eBay

It's not your connection, Philip, it's like that for everybody. I think we lost those photos when they did one of the "upgrades" to the system. The same way we lost our entire tank classified section.

Good evening, Artem!
maybe You can give me some advice about things I should change in my model to make it more historically accurate?

Lower front part: remove the additional armor plate from the bottom

, put new tow brackets. Upper front part: return the glass of the antenna input armor, put the driver's hatch, put the course machine gun armor, put the headlight, put the signal. General details: add tow ropes, tarpaulin, spare tracks. If there is a desire - cut out the hatch above the engine and put the opening
