Default Anti Track Recoil Is Back

I got mine from Kevin at RC Tanks Australia. It's $19.90 US with free shipping worldwide. It's called the ATRC2016

In the video I forgot to mention that it has a pair of jumpers to go back and forth from HL to TG and it's clearly marked for an easy switch.

So if you want to eliminate track recoil in a stock tank you can get one here

http://rctanksaustralia.com/shop/ind...products_id=18

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8LlYDuY17U I'll get some video of it in action soon.

Here's what it looks like on the fly. I like these new boards even better than the Komodo. They seem to be rock solid and try as I might I can't get it to act crazy. I already told Kevin I want 2 more because he only has about 10 left in this first run.

Good informative video, good to know that this is available for those who dislike track recoil. I personally like it , it adds realism to scale rc'ing. Now it would be cool if you could mod/adjust the amount or intensity of track recoil and keep the realistic operation of model.
Maybe it can be pitched to the guys putting out these boards.

I just received my Taigen Tiger 1 with barrel recoil which I love. Will this board interfere with that or only disable the track recoil?

It should disable just the track recoil. All it really does is kill power to the motors for a fraction of a second when the trigger switch is activated. I used a komodo board in a tank with a taigen airsoft barrel recoil turret and it worked fine, so the ATRC should also work.

Thank you for your answer. Watching your video I thought that's how it worked. I will get myself one.

You know, I think you CAN adjust the amount of track recoil with the IBU series of boards. The recoil in my Stug is so light it's barely noticeable so I didn't turn it off on the SD card. The way it came out of the box is very light and I don't think it's the full amount that the IBU is capable of. Tankbear would know for sure.

I would have to agree that a very small amount does add to the realism, but those tanks that come stock with enough track recoil to practically make the muzzle brake bounce off the ground really need help, and I think it's our duty to rescue as many of those poor tanks as we can.

Nice videos. Thanks for the reviews and the tutorials.

Can you adjust the amount of time that it kills power to the motors? Seems like I remember some of your videos about the Komodo and it could be set to be so short that it looked like the tank never stopped driving. It just kept rolling through and picked right back up. Can this one do the same thing? Or, does it only have the longer stops like were in your video?

That would be a dream come true, maybe Gary can give us an answer already. I just ordered my board from Kevin and don't know for sure. Looking at the picture of the board on his website I don't see any trim pots, so my guess would be no.

Yea, didn't see any trim pots but do see some jumpers. This would effect the motors at all times but wonder how this would work in conjunction with a turnigy chip? it's essentially a mini voltage regulator that you can adjust with pots. Most tank guys use them to add momentum to their tanks and stop the sudden stop when you release the throttle stick. I don't really dig them, too me it makes the throttle control to sluggish. Just an idea.

With the Komodo+ there was what Kevin called a "cookie" and by jumping between two spots when you first turned it on you could go back and forth between a two second delay and a four second delay (I think, might have times wrong) but the new ATRC doesn't have that. Instead Kevin is trying to get it perfect out of the box, but the trouble is that Taigen keeps changing stuff so the timing is different from board to board. For the ATRC I tried here you have to use them with only newer tanks, but Kevin just sent me an ATRC with a .5 second delay so i'm about to put that in and try it out. I should have a video tonight or tomorrow. It's raining here anyway, so it's a good time for it. I think this board is almost there, and this version should be good to go for all tanks and give a good balance.

OVERLY VIOLENT TRACK RECOIL MUST DIE!

Oh yeah, the jumpers are to set for Heng Long or Taigen.

And please remember, if you get one and it doesn't act exactly the way it should, please don't get mad or fire off any nasty emails. Kevin is a truly great guy who stands behind his work and if there is any problem he will make sure it gets fixed. Many members can tell you that new products don't always work perfectly in the beginning and as RC Tankers the best thing we can do to keep progress marching forward is to be patient and try to help the guys like Kevin build better stuff. Recently someone started a thread to thank the guys making new tanks, but guys like Kevin should be included in that as well.

The new ATRC has arrived and i installed it in my T34, which is one of the very first HL T34s, purchased over two years ago, and it works flawlessly. If it ever stops raining I'll get some video.

Really you want a smaller voltage, not timing. That way you get the lower hull slight movement and not the "toyish" movement.

You might want to try the Double RX18 trick then. I think the ATRC causes the tank to stop, so if you are shooting on the move the tank will stop, fire and then start moving again..

Philip, I think this is what you want, but this is a TK22 and I don't think you'll get this with the ATRC. All the ATRC does is kill power to the motors for .5 seconds. If you have a really good tank that will coast a bit when you get off the throttle it might carry through until the power comes back, but I have the new one in a T34 and it doesn't run anywhere near smooth enough for that. I'll get video of the T34 in the next day or two.

Good videos...thanks for the demonstrations.
