Default Sherman front fender support

Ive been fairly quiet lately due to very little time for modeling and a loss of 3 of my tanks that were knocked out with heavy damage while transporting in a friends truck. All my tanks went airborne. Repairs have been slow.

Im nearly finished with repairs on my EZ8 Katy Kat. Its a tamiya that landed on its drive sproket and suffered severe damage as well as turret issues internal and rotation. I have not looked my Jumbo over yet, but it suffered the most damge.

any way, I am going to have to do something to get the front fenders reattached to a couple tanks. Im thinking of cutting the fenders off some old tamiya and HL hulls and using them since the original fenders broke off in odd spots.

Has anybody had to do fender repair to the urethane hulls? Or to a styrene tamiya?

I saw one tanker that made new brass fenders and I think hinged them.
My urethane fenders were notched underneath with brass rod laid in and glued up to the front glacis plate for extra support, but that doesnt help when a tank goes airborne like this.

I had the same issue with the front fenders on my jumbo hull from Nick. I just glued them back on and reinforced them underneath with a wide strip of thin styrene and Araldite. I'll also be adding a timber shelf to the front which will be attached to the fender sides so that should add some further strength.
It's not up to the running stage yet so time will tell if this fix will hold up or not but it gets the occasional bump on the workbench and seems solid so far.

Where are you located? I have a Tamiya Sherman hull I am not using due to using the Mato cast hull for my M51 build

Im in San Diego. I appreciate the thought, I have a spare tamiya front and a few Hl hulls I can rob fenders from, im just pondering sturdy ways to securs them to the urethane hull so they dont break off again
thanks.
