I don't think anyone in the states has one yet. AAF told me late August when I pre-ordered.

Anyone know if they addressed the suspension leaf spring length issue on this release? Know ETO used to sell some awesome carbon fiber upgrades but don't think they are stocking them anymore?

Here is a photo of the leaf on my Tamiya PIV, I built this a couple of months ago. Does it look like yours Benny or are mine any longer than yours?

Na, looks like they are still short. This is the only issue you really need to address on this kit. On full extension the leaf spring will drop off the bogie support and drag, even worse is if your unaware and go in reverse. It will bend it up and jack the whole tank up. Here's a shot of my carbon fiber leaf's on the tank and a comparison to the stock. It's not much but that's all the difference between smooth running or dragging a land anchor around the battlefield.

I don't think it was a shame. I'm running 3 Tamiya Pz IV's, and replaced the stock torsion bars with the Schumo set of carbon fiber ones thinking my problems were over. Unfortunately, the carbon fiber torsion bars had a bad tendency to crack the minute you put any pressure on them with the set screw. I tried less pressure, flat tipped grub screws and doubler plates, but about 30% of them just cracked. After cracking, it was inevitable they would fall out. I was very disappointed. I removed them, and went back to the original ones, which seem to work fine. I've only had one of them slip out of the mount.

I used Aves and puttied the bars in place from the get go and never looked back. Never had them slip either and my IV has been over some rough terrain.

What is an Ave? Is it a form of putty? Did you use it to make leafs?

I see the kit is now on Ebay, coming out of Hong Kong. It won't be long now I hope.

I just got an email from the tank museum, the Jagdpanzer IV has arrived at Tamiya USA. It won't be long now.

I'll be waiting to see the price from the museum. On ebay, once you add shipping it's over a thousand dollars. Too rich for my blood. And having just found out that the new Panther F from Imex is going to be over $500 with shipping I think I'm about to call it quits for this hobby.

I was told the price was $785.00 + shipping.

As far as the Panther F, I have two G models, a Tamiya and Taigen. I'm going to order an F upper and turret for the Taigen and convert it to an F.

Gary, just a heads up, there's plenty more to this hobby than just buying tanks.

I'd keep going with your videos, you're a good modeler, you can get into some serious mods or historically matching tanks like you talked about. My original Tammy Tiger I was a Das Reich for years before I converted it to an initial. That was serious work, with the removal of escape hatch, adding the proper gun sights and stepped driver sight, loss of fenders, etc. It's a whole new model with zero cost besides the time.

Then there's always making a real effort at figure painting too.

Sorry, Men, just venting a bit. I'm sure modeling of some form will always be a big part of my life, I just get a tad frustrated sometimes, as I'm sure we all do. If you'll tolerate just a bit more, I think what has me in a state today is that I just read an article that said in a survey of adult Americans less than 30% could identify a photo of the vice-president (less than 40% could tell you the name of the vice-pres) but over 85% immediately identified a photo of Flo, and also new her name and that she's the Progressive insurance huckster (huckstress?). State law requires that I give this industry money, and I can't help but wonder how much less that would be if there was a cap on advertising budgets.

But prices are definitely getting higher for us RC Tankers, too. Not as bad as the Model Railroad guys have had to suffer over the last years, but they've also seen remarkable advances in the hobby. To say that DCC was a huge leap forward would be an understatement of truly epic proportion (sorry, jimmy, couldn't help it).

I'm really looking forward to the new Tamiya kit, and I hope I can scrape up the dough for my first Tamiya Big Tank. It will also have the advantage of being stock Tamiya, so no one can say I have an unfair advantage or that the Impact apple is too hard for them to hit or anything else you hear when you have a non-Tamiya tank.

So unfortunately you poor slobs are still stuck with me, but I do apologize once again for the ranting.

Rants are always good in my opinion, we all need to do it time and again. What ausf. said about you is true, you bring a lot to the hobby. Now stop typing and get that video camera out.

Gary, I've always taken small breaks from tanks and vice versa from other r/c arena's to recharge my head a bit and a change of pace. As I told you before, right now I'm into the r/c construction genre and haven't looked at a tank in weeks with exception to boring out the puma barrel. I'll get back on a tank build or mod this fall and feel fresh with ideas and motivation to get unfinished projects done otherwise for me I get burned out on things such as PE detailing, part fabricating, electrical solutions, etc. Go grab yourself a $100 bashing r/c truck to tear around your tank paths when the buildings aren't up!!

I'm in that tank slump too Brett.

I have the Ersatz M10 just sitting there waiting for some final detail bits and paint and the Thoma IV just needs weather, but my mind is on and under the water with RC'ing a couple of 1/35 boats (Vospers MTB and an X-craft sub).

Variety IS truly the spice of life. I "build" other kits (and projects) than just RC tanks so I do not feel any burn out at all.

Just wish battling them was more of an option.

Ya know, I just recently picked up a thing from Horizon hobbies called a Ruckus (sp?) and it's a mini kinda-like-a-short-course-truck kinda thing and it's really small and really fast and really fun and a great little stress reliever. I think it was about $80. I don't think it has the torque to run a jeep or kubel but just as a mini truck it's a blast in a bag. Runs on the exact same TX as the 1/24 temper Crawler I'm using for the scout car.

I like the new Jagdpanzer IV that Tamiya is coming out with one of my favorite tanks will get one in the future but not right now to many I need to finish and start already . I do have the conversion kit from Profline waiting to do still and for others who would still like to go that way there is a place making a kit from Hungary for sale on E-Bay for $60.00 plus $60.00 for shipping to USA they have other kits too .

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Conversion-k...kAAOSwzJ5XcoSk

Thanks
Jimmy
