If I'm not mistaken Rex actually means King, right? I've been told that Tyrannosaurus Rex loosely translates to "Lizard King".

The turret got done pretty fast and turned out ok. Now I think the fenders are the next step.

Make it a "Crab " with the flail.. Now that would be interesting watching that thing sling dirt and pebbles all around. LOL

I am having a lot of fun with this Churchill project and I was going to fenders next but I felt like I needed to take a break from it for a couple of days. The fuel trailer looked like a fun thing to start, so that was what I have being busy with. This type of trailer was also used on a Sherman!

Your suggestion about doing a Crab hit me like a bolt of lightning!!!! When I got my first Tamiya Sherman about 20 years ago, I had thoughts about doing one. The problem at the time was how to make the flail operate. This morning I thought of a way to do that using my Mato cast hull Sherman and some parts that I recently found out were available. The new technology we have available today has solved my problem (I think). My thanks goes out to Benny B for the parts source he told me about for my M 26 Dragon Wagon project earlier this year. I think I can get the parts I need for about $50. Thanks for your comment!!!

My plans to build an operational Crab are on hold for now. I ordered parts and started doing a ton of research for reference photos when I found this ---- Yikes !!!!! This guy is truly the ultimate king of scratch building. My project would be a frigging joke compared to what he builds.

Building a Churchill has been on my list of tanks to build for a long time and I am having fun finally building it. It will be functional with basic R/C equipment with turret rotation, but building something that would be an operational flame thrower is far beyond my skill level.

Seeing the video of your Crab and your build thread photos will be used as a reference for me on my Sherman flail project. I do not have the correct Sherman type to build a historically accurate Sherman flail, but the Mato cast hull Sherman I have will work just to see if I can make a flail that even works at all. But first I have to finish the Churchill.
I'm halfway done with the fenders at this point.

I don't like doing anything that was riveted together --- or has a highly detailed interior, and now I am going to add fenders to that list. I"m short on patience for that stuff. Golly, it looks like I ain't gonna be building much in the future !Building the hatches up front are next and then the engine deck. The rear end doesn't look too bad, but the gizmo that connects the trailer to the trailer may take some fiddling to get it to swivel properly.

I'm done for a few days.

I wasn't able to spend as much time on my Churchill as I wanted, but I did get the front done. Next is the rear deck and rear end with fuel trailer connections. I hate it when the real life bull crap I have to deal with gets in the way of my hobby time. Grrrrrr !!!

That is coming together very well. Will you paint it in desert colors like it's one of Monty's tanks, or do the green for Europe?

OK, Rex, I recommended you and they said as soon as you learn to speak Chinese and are prepared to move to China and become a communist they have a spot for you. I wasn't really very happy with that answer. I think they should open a shop in your home town and you can start turning out tanks we want to see, but they never listen to me.
