Default M4E8(w)90 Sherman-Pershing Love Child

Sooo..... I seem to have become a collector of misfit tanks lately and the question is what to do with 3/4 of a beat up Tamiya Pershing, a Super Sherman turret and hull hand me down, and and old Tamiya 105mm Sherman that is definitely run in to the ground...

MASH 'EM UP! I have encouraged a "paper panzer" build amongst the peanut gallery at DAK and my first entry is based on the prototype Sherman/Pershing hybrid built by Chrysler on a M4 105 Chassis. Only one was built but the engineering was sound as the turret rings were identical and all that was needed was internal stowage modifications. My take is .... what if? They made 254 Jumbos based on battle need and 187 M36B1s when the need for 90mm guns really hit the armored units. The easy eight was created by putting another turret on the Sherman...

Let's just pretend this is a May 1945 rush job in combat....

Lower Hull, Upper Hull, and Turret loosely fitted for concept work.

Some surgery was needed to "borrow" the Super Sherman turret lower. I made it fit with the Pershing and it works super right out of the gate.
As the suspension was already done and the turret was 75% complete all the work was finding spare parts in my bin. You may notice all my detail parts are green on the tan hull. I'm trying to use up my Tamiya parts stash as I have way too much from old clutch steer and craig's list part lots to burn up.

Once the kit was assembled I started some detail mods. Added stowage bars to the turret, removed the spare track holders, cut away the crane mounts and cleaned up some previous damage. I think I'm gonna not put the stowage bin on the right turret side just to be different.

Since you offered lol, I am going through it now and will ask before I place any order with AAF. I really appreciate it Bro!!! I just ordered several of Woz's creations from shapeways. I basically have a plain jane tammy 105 to convert. I managed to piece what I have already from projects gone by! I think I may call it Spares Sherman...

Today's update is a bit of slap dash custom turret MG stuff. I used a bunch of plastic Heng Long parts and repaired a lot of the damage on the Pershing turret. While I was at it, I decided to add a commander's .30 cal. Made a Fury style mount with the HL .50 cals mount and a 3d Printed 30 cal from Shapeways.

Since this project has been a fast paced effort, I decided to give it a quick base coat. I found some new formula "camouflage colors" at he auto parts store that has the Krylon Fusion formulation and figured why not? This model will have a new look camo scheme so I will use the dark-to-light method of modulation.

Translation... I'm starting with Black.

It looks great but makes me think the whole tank might flip over backwards when that 90 mil is cut lose. LOL. Like in WOT with them little russian tractors with 122mm guns on them LOL.

It really looks good in the black paint. Almost makes me think about the next step... a Super Jumbo / Super Pershing would be too ludicrous...... Hmmmmm

A super jumbo, E2 converted to HVSS by Israelis with an M50 gun and the turbo diesel plant. Now your talking and ass kicking Sherman. I don't care for that obtuse M51 monstrosity.

Anh, she aint well proportioned. My buddy has that tamiya m51 and its so diffcult to battle with too, especailly around obstacles.
A 76mm is about the longest barrel I would want. Especially since it isnt the size that matters with the gun. LOL

Anybody have a spare turret ring (MW1) for the Super Sherman or King Tiger? Jason and AAF don't have it and Axel's will charge me a flat rate of 35 euro to ship a 17 euro part.... I have the rollers, just need the ring...

Ok,this is where I am getting a little nutty... Going with a theme that is completely fantasy and truly a WoT or 1946ish. Decided to do a DAZZLE scheme.

Ships used dazzle schemes to confuse range finders on subs.. lets give it a try...

POW

Now for tools and stowage. Once again.... VALUE GEAR http://www.valuegeardetails.com/SciFi.html

Hi edoubleaz
Actually it looks like a variant of Swedish splinter cam - I like it.

I love that. I might have gone with the carc 383 forest green instead of the light green but it still looks awesome.

It is "sage" I found a small amount of it in a spray can I found in my garage.

Panel question, do I need a fourth color?

I would say no. But if you insist then a brown like 383 would fit.

I wouldn't, it would be way to busy with the colors fighting each other for real estate. It is perfect the way it is.
