Default Tank Classes for Battling

A call out for someone who battles at Danville. Is there a published list of what tanks belong in what class. I figure that the Shermans would be light, Tigers, heavy, etc. I would like to set my Tamiya electronics accordingly.

http://www.bayareatankers.org/ under intel > RCACN rules, then scroll down until you see the link for appendix A - this is the table you are looking for.

I thought the Shermans were dead at three hits, no.

I think the only Tamiya that is different from the RCACN rules is the Panther - Tamiya calls it a Medium due to the way it was employed, RCACN determined it to be a Heavy due to the thick frontal armour...

if you have something not on that list, I'm sure somebody here could offer an opinion - between us I think we've built pretty much anything you could conceivably think of

I've always been told the Tauchpanzer would be a light tank. Was I told wrong?

And you might as well throw in the M-41, since so many guys have one, which I think is a light tank.

The Tauchpanzer is a Panzer 4 variant, if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Guys
Tauchpanzer came in both Pz III & Pz IV versions http://www.wehrmacht-history.com/hee...auchpanzer.htm & http://www.wehrmacht-history.com/hee...auchpanzer.htm
M41 was a light tank - 24 tonnes, though it's gun - 76mm - was a medium at the time. Not sure what that makes it class wise?

The M41 was a light reconnosence tank. It was very small by comparison. You would be surprised if you have stood next to a real one, they appear smaller than a Sherman.

The full RCACN rules had the M41 classified as a light under the 'modern' rule set - but I don't recall anyone having enough modern tanks to ever make use of those rules
I've always ran mine as a light in WW2 battles, as the gun and armour are pretty similar to that of the M18 - ain't nobody complained yet

If you guys read the full table in on the BAT website I linked, you'll see where the various Pz3 and 4 variants shake out and the calculated average armour thicknesses that got them there. Quite often the difference is little things like extra bolt on armour on the mantlet that differentiates say the Pz3 Ausf J from the Ausf L (and later variants).
