Looking for Source of 1/25 Motorized Chieftain Tank
Hello
Like the title says. I am looking for a source of 1/25 motorized chieftain tanks in kit form.I need the kit for a project and it has to be a Chieftain tank.
I have gone through ebay with only the finished Tamiya R.C ones at Tamiya prices.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
George

I remember in the late 60s building one of these,
I am not sure what scale it was but for the day it was big and that was a Tamiya Motorised Chieftain,
It was semi R/C in that it had a hand controller connected by about 5 feet (1.5 Metres) of cable, I reckon it would be pretty easy to make a proper R/C conversion today.
I have never been so frustrated with sticking the tread rubbers into place only for the things to fall off like leaves in the Fall (Autumn),
Are they still available?
Cos with modern glues I might have more success with those tread rubbers.
I wish you good luck with your search George.

George:
Like you I had made a 1/24 Tamiya Chieftan back in 69/70 with the wire out the back.
It suffered with many explosions during battles with my 3 sons. (Fatal)
I make 1/16 now and have 8 or 9 but I bought a 1/24 Tamiya RC Chieftan just for fun but now I do not know what to do with it.
It is assembled and has a base coat of olive drab.
I suspect you want parts not an assembled unit.
I am close to you Fort Erie and coincidentally I am taking my son to McMaster Wednesday for 1:00 PM.
If you get involved in 1/16 RC tanks we have an RC tank Club in Fort Erie field ( We meet once a month here plus in between at other locations, Kitchener, Oshawa, Toronto.) (CAN/AM RC TANK CLUB)
In winter we do indoors at banquet halls in Kitchener.
We have members come from Windsor, Kitchener, Toronto, Oshawa,Welland, Hamilton etc.
If you are interested let me know.

Hi Wayne
Interested in your 1/24 Chieftain.Yes I would need to take it apart to then use what I need. Any thoughts of the price you want for it?

George:
I must apologize, after looking up how much I spent on the tank ( Dollar conversion, shipping and GST ) and knowing you already checked Tamiya prices and are looking elsewhere that I will keep it and continue to paint and weather the tank.
Sorry I took up your time on a wild goose chase.
I can not remember how to send a PM or I would have included the $ value. (more than you would like to spend)

Hi Wayne
To send a PM you just click onto the name of the person on the left of the screen and a pop up window appears showing you various options to choose from.
Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot.
I guess I never was aware of that, I have only done a few posts over the years and either my memory is really bad or there used to be another way.
Thanks again.
