I was thinking shoegoo might be the way to go. None of my tire CA glues worked at all, they just wick off the rubber and leave a film that peels right off.

Sounds like it may made from silicone and CA don't stick good .. Shoe goo may not either stick well.... but the CA i gave you the link to is the best CA i found and I used loads of types of CA'a for all my RC and slot car hobbies.
May want to pick some up if you ever need good CA.
