OK, Update.

I got it all wired up correctly as it now responds as intended. HOWEVER, I am not getting any power to the left side motor and the tamiya recoil constantly runs when I plug it in. I have checked the wires to the motor and all is well. I tested it by simply swapping motor wires into the working right side plug, so I know it is not the motor or the wires. Does this mean I have another bad board? I have no idea why the tamiya recoil constantly runs. The board is advertised to accept the Tamiya plug but the receptacle on the board is not even close to matching up without cutting the recoil plug down to size to fit the damn board. Did I mention this is the SECOND board? Am I missing something here? I have given this product HOURS of my life with no satisfactory results thus far, hell, even the Clark board now works without a hitch after a minor self induced issue was diagnosed. I even thought the stock Hooben electronics may have been the problem, but I replaced them with BRAND NEW TAMIYA items for the recoil and elevation. I am really frustrated at this point...

Try connecting channel 1 wire in channel 2 and viceversa.

I had problems too.

All the dip switches are set to off. I thought it (#6?) had to be on to be 3s?

Do you mean switching the RX channels around? I have it now as the directions state so I can get everything working as intended even though I don't like the HL style of control but at least this way I can get the engine started and such... Anybody have any idea why I am getting no power to the other motor plug?

Yes, I mean that. Do it and lets see what happens. I had similar problems and I fixed it that way.
Im not sure what you mean with HL control. Does it means throttle on right stick? I dont like it too, but you just need to change the channel order, or program your radio, but I dont know which radio you use.

Update, the folks over at the UK forum helped me figure out the recoil issue which was the trip arm on the Tamiya recoil unit was not being properly hit due to the board supplying too much power. The other issue with the motor appears to be a bad board problem. When I pulled the standard board and installed a pro unit, both motors worked fine but it too has the recoil issue. With the American distributor going out of business, where can I send this board to be replaced?

This is Jerry, send me your old board. I'll replace it with another new one. This is the first
instance I've experienced of two bad boards serially ending up with the same customer, I would not have expected that. Both boards I sent you were factory new exactly the way I received them. I may be stopping my business but I'll not ignore this.

SUCCESS!!! I finally got the T-55 running with no issues! I installed the Pro board, fixed the Tamiya recoil issue by using a washer and remounting the trip arm closer and it now works perfect! What a kick in the ass that was. I appreciate all the help from you guys and especially Jerry for standing by his product. Hopefully the standard board he ships back to me will work as intended... It is going into my Enigma project which is just about done. I need to finish up the paint and get the electronics all sorted out..

Well I bought 2 ibu2 PROS got 1 in my Sherman working, had to run channel 1 on rx to channel 2 in ibu, and channel 2 to channel 1.. runs just fine.

the 2nd one however I have spent 5 or 6 hours myself and another 2 plus last night with Richard, we have tried 3 different rx/tx combos, 3 different SD cards, 2 known working and in 2 different working tanks.

with it set for 4 channel we cant get anything to work, it does not have any elevation out put. cant get to start or anything.

with it set for 6 channel we can get it to start, we get barrel elevation and that's it. Its on a SU so there is no turret rotation but used a servo to test turret rotaton and there is no out put from IBU... so frusterated $$ down the toilet.. this will proably be my only time buying this product.

They really are a crap shoot right now. Not sure if they changed suppliers which may have harmed quality. I had to ship two standard cards back already and like you, wasted a ton of time. If Jerry wasn't selling them so cheap, no way I would buy another.

Was it the right or left? It may be a flaw in the manufacturing process if it is the same as mine?

I still have two IBU Pros in the Box waiting for projects, but after all the trouble that you've been having I think it might be a good idea if I take them out this weekend and test them just to make sure everything is ok

Is the right motor. I did an exhaustive test and definitelly the right motor does not work. I opened a thread at rc tanks warfare if you want to take a look.

Jerry here.

I have stood behind these products, I have done everything I could to support my customers within the bounds
of what I can do.

The last sale I had of these was as I clearly stated a Close-out sale after I notified Ivano that I was
quitting as his NA representative. I clearly stated, at least I believe I did, that these were non returnable
sale items with the sole guarantee that they were factory new- as issued items. Nothing more than that.

Now if people are going to insist on replacements anyway from me I have no recourse. Rather than permanently damage my name in this hobby in which I have worked for decades I will replace recently purchased items but must insist that defective items be returned. And I must impose a reasonable time limit.

From this point forward I'd rather eat the loss of my investment in IBU products than contend with on going problems
and to that end I will no longer accept any orders at all of any IBU products at any price. The sole exception is if someone wants to purchase the entire remaining inventory and assume responsibility for it.

This entire adventure is one I will regret for a long time unfortunately.

Jerry

I just want to say publicly that I have been watching and I know first-hand that Jerry has indeed stood behind these products. When he was our North American distributor we couldn't have asked for a more dedicated and conscientious vendor. If the IBU boards that I now have in my possession turn out to be bad I will contact Ivano directly. Jerry is absolutely right that this was a close out sale and that is why we got the great prices. I'm sad to see, Jerry, that you won't be selling the rest of your stock but I totally understand your position. Your efforts to make the hobby better for all of us have caused me to have a great deal of respect for you. I hope you're always in the Hobby and I hope that we'll always have you here to consult because you have many many talents other than being an IBU salesperson
