How much torque in a servo do u need for recoil?

Not much at all. Only thing you may need to think about is if it's a heavy metal barrel/muzzle break. Even then if it travels with no hang ups through the mantlet you could use about anything. One thing to watch is your flash wiring out the back of the barrel. Don't let it bunch up to much behind the barrel and possible give resistance on the back action.

OK thanks. I was looking at 17 ounce torque. If not I have a 250 one lol

17oz should be fine. In comparison some 1/18 scale r/c trucks use 15-20oz servos for steering. Should use the 250oz for elevation, that way you could turn yourself over if you ever turtle!
