The first small batch is in process; if everything runs well in a few weeks they should be ready but no exact deadline yet.

Wow. I'll have to get a loan or sell something... maybe the whole pantyhose concept would be an option?

Looks fantastic. I need to watch the movie 'PATTON' tonight now. The first guys to own this I will be totally jealous and envious of.

Well guys, I was finally quoted a price. Its not for the faint of heart or the light wallet. Im going to have to save a little to budget it. Im not going to post the price but I will warn you, its more than Tamiya's.....
Despite that, after watching this whole thread and knowing the sheer amount of parts, and time in prototyping the kit I do feel its worth the price.

LOL. Everyone knows they are not Tamiya priced.

Hand crafted, low production... you wanna play ya gotta play. Do show it off when it arrives.

Hi Freddy
Looks very nice. Interesting that you chose the Diesel engined variant, between the engine decks from the M48 & the Centurion Kit, you've got most of the parts for an upgraded Israeli Centurion - just need the 105mm L7, filter boxes & the later Centurion turret roof with relocated loaders hatch. Was that part of the plan, or just serendipity at work?

Hi Mal,The M48A2C had still a gasoline engine, but used the new engine deck that later M48 with diesel engine had. You’re right - the shapes are similar but in detail very different at both kits.Shortly after I’d finished works at the Centurion Mk. III, I designed a conversion set for the Shot Kal you mentioned.

Hi Freddy
Thanks for the reply. Had forgotten about the side opening fender stowage boxes, but see you've done those too. My query was more to see if you're explored the possibility, than an intention to buy. Reasonably happy with my Cent as it is.

Some progress is done...

Since a long time I´ve wanted to build an IDF tank and after my Centurion Mk.III became a Korean fighter, this M48A2C will be a fighter while 6-Day-War in 1967.
Without any changes the IDF (Israel Defence Force) took over M48A2C and renamed them Magach 2.Meaning of the markings:
  • 3rd Battalion (3 strips around gun barrel)
  • 2nd Company (chevron heading forward)
  • 2nd Platoon (number 2)
  • 1st Tank in the Platoon (Hebrew alphabet aleph א)
...of the 7th Armored Division

Joe,
Chris and his team is still working to get the first batch ready for selling. It needed much more time than expected...
The Matilda prototype is built and all necessary changes are done, so it should be no problem to manufacture a kit for you - get in contact with Chris directly and ask.

Yeah, what a looker and wish I could get one but only one new tank project this year for me... that Matilda. I want a British tank so it fills the bill. I sent Chris a PM about the cost but like many here on RCU, they are not getting through.

Actually, that T-28, the M48 and a British tank were on the want list but budgeting all of them and a truck is impossible this year.

Will there be a Megach with the Urdon cupola, diesel engine deck, and 105mm gun? That is the one I want to do!!!
