1/16 Trucks

I like the modern troop carrier with the troops, but the Vietnam gun truck is uber cool.

The flysky 3 channel is on ebay for a pretty good price, $33 with free shipping, if anyone needs one. I'm not in any way affiliated with the seller, just passing on info. I have a couple of these radios, love them for the trucks, and this is the second best price I've seen, the best was $30 (I bought two then).

Also, they have metal wheels for the WPL series trucks, with dual rears. Pricey, at 70 something dollars for a set of ten, but man they look good. I wonder how those would look on my Q60. We may have to find out.

I might try a set of wheels, but just one for now, since they should come down in price.

Crius
With rubber tires that is a great deal. They do look great. Can the drive train handle metal wheels and larger tires?
Heck one tire, no rim on RC4WD is $30! Ten would be $300. So that is a bargain.

Thought I'd throw in a little weathering project
Left out in the weather too long I think
Still have a bit more to do such as the wheels.
This is my JJRC Zlin/1940 GMC/ IHC?? Regardless, it's similar to one my Dad had on the farm back in 53. Best I can recall, it sorta looked like this.

I really like your work on the fire truck. A bit outside the box (if you'll pardon the pun). The fifth wheel is most interesting. Did you scratch build it. If so I'd love to copy it. Perhaps you could post a closer pic? Thanks.

Finished the weathering project
There, the wheels and grill are done. Got a metal tranny and 370 motor on the way. Guess I better start adding my trucks to my signature. I'll watch Gary to see how his lights go since I took his advise and got three sets.

Nicely done. The cargo bed looks great, and the rust is spot on.

The unit Rembrandt has struck again
I'm almost ready to weather and flat-coat this puppy.
And these are the U.S. jerry cans from Martin's CCKW project. This weekend I want to try the row of multiple jerry cans, and some of the very cool workshop stuff Martin has come up with.
And the U.S. jerry cans scale up to 1/6 scale very, very well, and Martin did both loose cans and in the mounting bracket/shelf/thingie. Here's a decent example

So evlwevl has expressed an interest in trucks, so we'll try and entice him into our new addiction.
These trucks are very, very easy to convert to hobby grade and I really had a lot of fun doing it. If anyone wants to build one of these, or any of the other trucks, and needs tail lights, fuel tanks, crates, or anything we're printing, just let me know and we'll see if I can help you out.

I printed the row of gas cans from Martin's workshop, and as luck would have it, they fit behind the speaker crates just perfect. I think I'll put a row on each side of the bed, then some bedrolls or tents in between?

Got that one converted to gcode and it's in line, along with the table. I think I'm going to print the table top down.
This week I'm going to order a wanhao D7. That will print much better small items, and tires!! I might only be able to print one or two tires at a time, but that's way better than zero, and once they sort out the D8 and Woz thinks it's safe I'll order one of those. That should create some excellent parts for the Diamond T wrecker, and i might even be that far by then. Today I just got head and tail lights in the WC51 and once they're wired to the RX I'll do a video. It's almost time to get serious about detail and paint for that one. I still think it's a bit slow, and i still haven't sorted the canvass, but we're getting closer.

My first FPV vehicle. I made it so it could be removed and placed on other vehicles. The box is my first scratch build with Styrene. It can hold a future sound module and FPV battery.
