Have you bought a new HL truck, and if so how many?
Hoping that manufacturers will see this, how many HL trucks have you bought, and did you buy just one? How many? I've picked up 4 already and I think 2 more will be enough for all I want to do with 4 wheel stuff. Well, I want to make two into a ten wheeler, but you get the idea. I can't wait to see what we can do with the 6x6. How many are hoping to see Jeeps and stuff like fuel trucks and ambulances? If the trucks were better quality, maybe with servo steering and maybe even sound, kind of like a Losi with sound, or maybe the same as a Temper but again, with sound (if you're familiar with Losi and Temper 1/24 stuff), would you be willing to pay a higher price? If I were to see trucks in the same quality and price range as the Torro half track, I think I'd have to have at least a couple.
If you could ask for any non-tank vehicle, anything from halftracks to motorcycles, what would it be? First on my list is a deuce and a half! And then a ten wheel, five ton tractor with a fuel trailer. Or maybe a Hanomag SS-100. Or a staff car! Or ...
Maybe if the powers-that-be see the interest it will lead to good places, so here's a chance to holler loud.
Remember you can select more than one answer in the poll.
Thanks for the help, Men.
And this is my first poll, so try not to laugh too hard. the goal is to be able get more cool toys, so let's hope it works.

I got my first gearbest order today as well. I ordered two more in the flash sale, so we'll see how long those take. I ordered this truck on Sept. 21st, so that's 29 days.

Got 2 on order from Haya, one is earmarked for a modern British Army Jackal recon vehicle, the other is open to ideas - the wheel base is too long for a Dodge weapon carrier, but too short for an AEC Matador and its derivatives...

I got one from Banggood, ordered two more from Gearbest yesterday, and one other one that I ordered from that Ebay guy on 9-6-17. I wonder if I will ever see that one, he doesn't answer my inquiries about delivery.

Hey Rex, I think I ordered from the same ebay guy and I got mine almost three weeks ago. You might wanna contact ebay and sic 'em on the seller.
Martin, did you see the guy at RCTW that put two together to make a ten wheeler? He says the frame was rather simple to stretch, so your matador might still be possible.

There is a need in my collection for an affordable German Half Track to match my WSN-TORRO M16.
And I am sure a British Army Chev that was used in many different roles as well as an affordable Opel Blitz of the period would be nice AND when is someone going to produce a "FAMO" Half Track that I can afford ?
Shaun.

Yeah I saw that one. A chassis stretch certainly wouldn't be beyond me, I've done similar things in the past - The trouble with the Matador is that I'd be compelled to build the 5.5" gun to go with it that and I'd then find myself building an AEC armoured car, and a Dorchester command vehicle, and then I'd have to buy a bigger house to fit it all in...

I got my first one from Gearbest and it worked for about 10 feet and then a universal on the rear drive shaft broke The metal drive shaft on the motor spins freely on the front drive shaft connection. I was able to fix that with Gorilla Glue. The one I ordered from Ebay was delivered and apparently was stolen off of my front porch. The Banggood truck I got works ok for now. This has not my month so far. I have another truck coming from Gearbest , along with the r/c 6x6 they have. I hope my luck changes. I am and at the same time. How can that be

Really sorry to hear about your bad luck, Rex. I hope the next GB order goes smooth as silk.
So how about one of these with the 6 wheeler?

All very cool, so I guess you'll have to build them all!
Remember me talking about a Meillerwagen convoy? I think I have a start on an SS-100 (for those not familiar, here's a photo of an SS-100, used, among other things, to pull the V-2 rocket). I robbed the tires from a Highway 61 firetruck. Here's the real thing and my feeble start, which is so far just the frame. those fenders are gonna be a b....ear.

May be able to just use some paint can tops for fenders Gary? Cut down, shaped and grafted. Little styrene for the running boards and call it a day. Definitely easier said than done though. Usually the bummer that I"ve come across with a modded dually rear is the axle is too long. Your rear tire offset are going to be quite a bit wider footprint than your front. Ran into the same thing with my wrecker. I got over it and it works fine, just occasionally it bugs me on the shelf. Could just solve it appearance wise with wider fenders on the rear.

Hey Bret, I've seen the rare Hwy 61 models go for as much as $400, so that would be an expensive set of tires indeed. But if you watch, once in a while you'll find a used one in the $40 to $60 range. There's a good firetruck up now for $80, but still pretty expensive. I figger the stock tires are selling for $12 each, almost $50 for a set, so that makes it seem more reasonable to spend $60 for a used truck, if you can find one that cheap. Much patience required. I had a firetruck that got destroyed by the good folks at the U.S. Postal Service, so for me it was a case of making lemonade from my lemon.
As for the offset, I may have gotten lucky because the hex -part is so long. Push the rears on as far as they go but keep the fronts at the end and it almost gets you there. At least close enough for the girls we go out with. I'll get some photos from head on after work so you can see.
I like your fender idea, and I'm also looking at 1/16 hot rod model kits to see if I can get fenders or hood pieces or anything else. I gotta find out what that RCTW guy used for his cab, because it looks like an excellent start.

Wow -- your original posting about the SS- 100and V-2 setup was a buncha years ago! I always wondered how that project was going --- keep at it! On the subject of fenders --- I have had very good luck with using PVC plastic water pipe couplings or plastic electrical conduit couplings. It comes in many pipe sizes and cuts easily with a hacksaw. I have used the plain pipe too, if I can find a short piece.
