Good for you. I've been looking at getting one for a military build of some kind. Does it have three motors, one per axel? And, what's the steering like? Thanks.

Yes, there is a motor on each axle. I haven't charged the battery yet. The instructions say it takes about 1.5 hours. run time - about 10 minutes. Driving speed - about 12 km/hr.

It looks like they can. They are screwed to the axles with the same size screws. The rims are a different style but are the same diameter and width. The HL truck has smaller tires, 65mm x 24mm +/-, and would fit ok on the 6x6. The 6x6 tires are 75mm x 30mm +/_, and because the 6x6 tires are wider, it looks like the wider width would interfere with the steering linkage on the HL deuce truck preventing them from turning left and right as far.

I charged the battery until the light turned from red to blue. My 6x6 has no proportional speed control, no matter how careful I am with the throttle trigger, it's a 6x6 racer, not a rock climber, the steering is just as spooky. There are trim knobs on the transmitter for throttle and speed, but they don't do a darn thing. Bummer.

This thing will climb a railroad tie that is on the ground in my yard, and practically go airborne doing it if I go up against it at 90 degrees. If I go at it from an angle it turns over because of the lack of speed control.

How hard would it be to add a servo and an esc? Maybe run all three motors in parallel to the esc? Are the motors wired together now or do they have three separate inputs to the motherboard? Tracking says mine will be here Wednesday.

Each motor has a separate set of wires that connect to the circuit board with the red plugs.

If you put in a real esc and a real battery it would be pretty cool... at least until you nuke the gears😉 but as long as you have fun doing it

Have you gotten brave enough to try a 7.4 lipo? I see the battery says it's a 6.4 Li-Ion, which is new to me. I thought those only came in 4.8 or 7.4 volts. Guess ya learn something new every day. Anyway, it should handle one more volts without frying, don't ya think?

So what's up with this funny battery? I've never seen a lithium-ion battery that has four wires coming out of it. A bud tells me it may be two one cell batts, wired like that so it's proprietary to that brand. I think I'm gonna wire all three motors in parallel and hook them up to an esc. If my danged escs ever get here, that is!!

But this is a real little beast. It might be just stop and go for throttle, but when it's go, man, does she GO!

Crius ---- I don't have a problem with anything anybody wants to post on my threads. I gotta learn how to do videos but I am a technological caveman when it comes to some stuff.
I enjoyed seeing that video. Mine does the same thing. I am going to name mine Evel Knievel, build a ramp and jump over a dozen of my tanks ---- but just the HL ones, not my scatch built babies. I don't have a clue how this thing could be slowed down, but I hope there is an easy (cheap) way. I like this critter better than the bobbed deuce, except for the warp speed thing. Thanks for the video !

Thanks. Rex. I'm thinking about wiring all three motors in parallel and using an esc. I got a good laugh when you said you're gonna jump your tanks. Now that's a video I'd love to see!

If the SS-100 goes well I might see if my British bud can print a body for one of these.

Oh yeah, thoughts on the battery? It says 6.4 volts, but with 4 wires is it maybe two 3.2 volt batteries? If I use an esc it won't matter.

Your suggestion just went to first place on my list of possible projects that could use the 6x6. So far I have only considered armored cars, but I do like recovery equipment. The Scammell Pioneer and the Morris CDSW look good to me as well. Decisions, decisions ---- Should I get 2 or 3 more 6x6s, or build interchangeable bodies that would fit on on the one 6x6 I already have? That interchangeable body thing worked with my Studebaker US6, so why not the scammell?

Get me a picture of this battery if you can. Sometimes manufacturers like to make special plugs or wire arrangements to make non standardized charging setups which require only their charging solutions. On some consumer items this isn't a terrible idea, but on cheaper items like these it is more of a pita or sometimes a safety issue if not done correctly.
I recently had a company send me an item to test. The item came with what was labeled as a 7.4V 2S lipo. It was a funky 4 wire plug so I decided to check it out first. Turns out it was actually just two 3.7V lipos in parallel and two positive leads and two negative leads on the plug. To someone who might not of known they may have plugged that little connector (it was a small battery, nothing big) into what they thought was a balance plug charger and started a fire very quickly! Turns out the product combined the cells on the internals to make 7.4V, but the risk you put your customers through just so they spend a few bucks more on your own special charger is just kinda dumb. Hopefully this is not one of those circumstances. I'll be happy to assist you guys here

Ahhhh yes, same thing. So if this similar to the one I had then you should find you can't actually get 2S in series off the plug and that the plug is just both cells in parallel beside each other. If you follow the power cable on the other end I bet you it puts them in series there at the board. I hate these goofy connectors What is weird is the operating voltage as 3.2V nominal are usually LiFe batteries, but with all the new lithium chemistry out it is getting hard to keep up. What is the fully charged voltage you get off that thing when you pull it off a charger? How about a good picture of the electronics pulled out on both sides too please?

I can get you the voltage reading after work, and maybe shots of the board, but I don't think it's all that big a deal as I plan to remove the stock board and install a steering servo and an ESC. Then I'll be able to run 2S lipos with no problem. Sooo, as busy as you are I'm not sure you'll want to waste time figuring out a board that's not gonna get used anyway?

Finally got a chance to play with this one. Right now I have all three motors wired in parallel, but it's still way too much juice so i might try wiring them in series and see what happens.
