Default How to replace headlight on Heng Long Jagdpanther?

So according to my voltmeter, I'm getting juice at the headlight, but no lighty. Strangly the voltage reads between 480-500 volts, depending on whether I set my multimeter to 1.5, 9, or 12V. I don't know why.

But, the volts go away when the tank is shut down, so I'm assuming I have juice at the bulb.

So, how hard is it to replace the headlight? I'm guessing it's glued into the socket on the fender? I suppose I can cut it off flush with the socket, then drill out the remnants until I can glue in the new one.

Speaking of new one, is there a more accurate replacement with the horizontal slit instead of the bare bulb nose?

These are what I used on mine (well, one of them anyway). Just use some de-bonder, like "Uncure" and after a minute or two it should wiggle right out.

TIGER 1 METAL LED HEADLIGHT

I replace the LED in this with a warm white 3mm LED.

And I believe you're getting 4.8 to 5 volts at the lights, so use an appropriate resistor if you change the LED, otherwise the one that comes with the metal light will work fine, just wire it in.

Hi Crius,

Link doesn't work.

However, miraculously my headlight started working again! Still might replace it on the other one though when I do a rebuild.

Just check bad solder points first. LED bulbs tens not to "burn" out at all...
