2018 Danville battles?
Are there any battle events scheduled that are longer than single day events? I was thinking of trying to attend an event but I don't think I want to drive 13 hours one way for a single day event. A two day event would make it worthwhile.

Their present calendar shows only single day events. It appears to be updated through the summer (might be to Sep iirc).
Who runs them? the museum?
Would there be sufficient interest to support a 2-day? Does it need sponsorship to happen?

Other than the December event all Battle weekends....are that. Start friday morning and go through the weekend till around noon Sunday. A.C.E has selected to pay for additional hours at our hosted events, so we will go a bit later on Saturday and till 3pm on Sunday. The dates you've seen posted are meant to recognize the entire weekend.

Some of us stay at the comfort inn. Has an attached restaurant/bar/outside pool. We hang out around the pool or in someone's room for an after party.

Make sure to ask for the AAF discount at the Inn; it saves you about $15/night.
See ya,
Pat

When I was going to Dville from '03 to '06, that sort of thing never happened. We were pillars of decorum as we sat around the pool or in The Pig, sipping our milkshakes and quietly discussing the events of the day. I am suitably shocked at the very thought of the local constabulary being called to any gathering we kind and thoughtful tankers would have.

I'm trying to dial in a few parameters on Clark boards to match the Tamiya system.
1. Amount of speed reduction in a damaged state.
2. Amount of speed reduction in a badly damaged state.
3. Is the hull recoil of a firing tank required?
4. Is the hull recoil of a tank that is hit required?
5. When a tank is knocked out is it set to auto restart or is it required to manually cycle the power?
6. Unlimited ammo?
7. Is turret rotation speed historical?
8. Is road speed historical?

That's how my tanks are setup. They are also equipped with a muzzle flashand recoiling barrel. The emitter tubes are mounted in the gun mantle and are 10mm deep to the tip of the led with an inner diameter of 3.3mm and I have a couple of Tamiya apples.
Is there a list of the different tanks anywhere that states the weight class and road speed that is typically used at Danville?
Is there anything else that is required?

Check out Bay Area Tankers (Welcome) go to INTEL then to R.C.A.C.N Rules. Scroll down and look for appendix B. This will give you a speed chart for on road speeds. We choose you use on road speeds at the museum to ensure that everyone gets on the battlefield. I'm for sure not going to be the guy to tell someone they CAN'T play cause their $1000 (kit,TX, batts, charger, etc) out of the box King Tiger is fast for off road speeds and they may be unfamiliar with historical speeds or the know how on gear reductions. Even with on road speeds we still have to get people to calm their tanks down with stick stops or programming their TX to adjust endpoints.
