Nice. Based on M26 chassis?

Cool. Most conversions I've seen use the M26 - due to the wheel spacing being closer on the M26, than the M41.

Yes, very nice!

But, I have often wondered why nobody makes a full-production Hell Cat - like IMEX? I would think it would be a popular model.......

Nice job. That really is a tank we need a kit for.

SWEET! Will you mount an apple for battling? Is that a flash LED or IR LED on the end of the barrel?
Looks great.

Hi Nick,
The apple mount is under the figure and .50 cal. It pops off and the apple plugs in. The flash is typical Tamyia in the end of the barrel while the IR is located on the left side of the mantlet. The elevation servo is mounted behind the spare ammo rack. Recoil servo, (using one of your boards) is located under the breech block. Right now it is actually a bit slow for it's type, but that will be taken care of shortly with a motor and pinion change.

I'm a little slow sometimes, how did you make the recoil work. I'm having nothing but trouble in my efforts. If I could figure out what you have achieved it would save my project!!!

I used a tank hobby recoil board. I connect the positive and negative wires to the tank battery, and the white signal wire to the center post of the Tamiya recoil port. The servo plugs in at the other end of the board. You can also adjust the servo arm position with the pot on the board. These are available from Nick at . rctankhobby.com ,

I forgot to ask about the speed, of course you have that taken care of. Will this battle as a medium or light? Cruising around as probably the fastest tank on the battlefield with a quick firing rate could be devastating.

The jury is still out on that. Right now I have it set up as a medium and will see what happens. Being a light would really blow some minds with the quick firing rate though.

The new motors and pinions came in today, I will work on that conversion this weekend. I added some crew to the turret too.

I'd say it would be a light. That speed and fire rate is awesome on the field. Shoot and scoot.

I like the idea of the fast rate of fire, but the tank is already fast enough to cause me trouble handling it. I'm not sure I want to go the 3 hit route on top of it. I normally don't last to long anyway on the battlefield. I will try both at the November battles. I can't make it on the 21st.

Just got my recoil boards (thanks Nick!) and I wanted to ask one more setup question, did you connect the POS(red) and GND(black) to the power switch or did you add something to the battery connection? I typically cut my Tamiya wires, Y them from the DMD/MFU and replace the connectors with dean's plugs.

Sorry to hijack your thread but I am curious to master alternate recoil methods!

Red to battery positive and black to battery negative after the power switch. Yup, you can splice into the power connections and I also use Deans connectors, the Tamiya Molex style connectors are problematic. The board has a regulator on it so it will provide the regulated five volts the servo needs. Because of this it should have about seven volts or more (which is the battery voltage).
