Well, is 2018 the year of the Sherman? seems like we have had a few Sherman builds on here lately, and though I am late to post, here are the pics of my finished EZ8 Sherman. It has Nick's rear deck and turret, ball bearings in the roadwheels and idler wheel, a Very Old set of impact gear boxes i bought from Custom RC models, and some extra detailing. the turret has recoil and the TBU base installed, this tank is battle ready! I did alter the rear hull plate with single access door and lowered exhaust pipes, luckily the defector hides most of it!
here are some pics:

Really nice Sherman! Figures they are one of my favorite tanks and in the time I have been in the hobby, I have only built 2...and M4A3 75 which I sold...and an Israeli M4A1 which I sold...Currently have two going. Fury and another Israeli... It must be the year of the Sherman lol

Very nice Sherman, it sure has a long gun barrel. Driving that around the battle field you will have to be really careful not to hit something! I really like all the extra deck detail you built into the model, very nice.
My wife & I built a box stock Tamiya Sherman last year, hopefully this year we can make it to Danville a few times to run it.

Nice ez8 buddy. They truly are the ultimate sherman as so many want one but have to build it to get one.
i have a few but only one is a battle tank. Still have too many shermans in the pipeline too. Im always working on a coule tanks at once so its always the year of the sherman around my shop. My next ez8, evtually when I get to it, i will mod nicks turret and convert thensplit hatch to the oval hatch. Just one more thing to do. Will prboably also make the other late mods like moving out the lift rings on the front and adding rear view mirrors! Oh the scratchbuilding fun.

I forgot to mention I am running the Super Sherman electronics in it, which are OK, not the correct engine sounds, but it works for battling. The turret work I had contracted out, so i cant take the credit for that. The barrel i also had lathed for me, but i designed it with the barrel protector instead of a muzzle brake, that is why there is that bulge at the end of the 76mm gun. I started this build last summer, so it has been on the back burner off and on these past many months. One thing i had to do was to modify the tabs on the bottom of the resin turret, they seem to be too long and i has to sand them down and round the edges, which helped with turret rotation. I did primer the tank in Tamiya NATO black and the used Tamiya Flat white for the highlight before i painted in Tamiya Olive Drab as the base color. Normally I use a black wash and do some chipping and other weathering, but i didn't with this tank. All i did was mist the suspension and lower hull with about 90% thinner and 10% Tamiya Flat Earth with just a few drops of Tamiya Flat clear, then over the whole model i did the mist over the tank with about 90% thinner and 10% Tamiya Buff and a few drops of Tamiya Clear Flat. That was all the weathering i did, i think it came out pretty nice. for the this Sherman, i went with the less is more philosophy of weathering.

I thought you were using the barc4 and bendini with this build, did you change up or was that someone else?
I too had that same issue with my nick turret tabs impacting the roller stanchions and had to file them down in an arc. Also, the turret kept popping off mine in battle. I had to add two strips of strene around the inside of the ring on the hull to keep the turret in place better. After that no more turret issues.

Here is a quick and easy little detail to add, there are little drainage holes around the splash guards on the hull, and a pin vise with small drill bit is all it takes to add them.
