There's a few build threads on here, have you tried the search function?

From what I read it is a kit not for the faint of heart. Some advance skills necessary, definitely not for the novice.

My search-fu is weak. All I found were posts mentioning it.

Yeah. Reading a build thread over on rctw. It's definitely going to be interesting.

I was really wanting a thin skinned "light" class IR battler. The kit is fine, just more of a boutique style kit. Needs tweaking and is more geared towards being a motorized model, not an r/c.
I just got turned off by the Elmod fusion board for it to do battling. No parameters for a drag break so the sucker has too much inertia for battling purposes. You let go of the throttle and your still moving another 2 feet. May not be as much of a problem with the recommend 55T motor but then your not getting scale speeds. Definitely a cool kit and if your just looking to drive around your house or backyard it's unique for sure. Also a plus that they have the rotation unit available. Wasn't available when I got mine. Still nothing for recoil, I had to bore the barrel out on the lathe and make up some linkage/brackets to go off a servo. I'd recommend going through my build thread to see what I came across and what had to be addressed.

I'm trying to decide between doing a 234/1 or a 234/4. I ordered the 234/1 conversion just in case, but I also have a second PaK 40 kit on hand as well.

TheBennyB, refresh my memory please. What was the issue with the original Puma drive line? I seem to recall there was
some sort of issue, either interference or weakness somewhere. Is this what prompted Andrew Design to come out with
the swing arm upgrade for our older kits? I got my kits about the same time you ran your build thread but haven't touched them
since.

Also their turret drive says it's for just the 234/1? What about the Puma itself? is it usable for that or could be adapted. I'm assuming,
even thought it's not stated that the 234/1 kit come with the rotation components as well. I was going to write AD about these points
directly but thought I'd poke around here first.

Jerry, the original axles were a bit short and at full articulation for steering could fall out. I remedied mine by moving the cups out a bit. As for the rotation unit, mine and yours doesn't come with it. It was released well after we received ours. Should work on the Puma. Also Ludwig has an offering for the rotation as well. Also the gearbox needs some shimming which they now include a couples thin washers. The crown gears are pot metal and don't think they'll survive much actual r/c use, haven't found a replacement for those yet.

The guy at the l ink below offers, or at least used to offer a nice replacement. His email is below as well when I asked about it in July of last year...

gearbox Puma, 1:16 gearing, hardened steel gears, bearings, motor Absima 55T 7700 RPM or 50T 8300 RPM, complete w/ drive shaft. Very powerful, high precision, smooth running construction. Modification on chassis required. See picture.
Available in 2-4 weeks. € 229.- plus shipping.

I didn't get it, but am still considering it despite the price. His gearboxes are really nice looking.

PS metal origin has a 222.coming out...saw some videos, looks nice....lol

Yup, saw Rolands gearboxes. Nice, but not really interested in throwing $300 into this till I have a gearbox failure. Really the gearbox is not the issue. The crown and bevel gears in the drivetrain are small and pot metal. Not going to withstand much abuse.

I've always admired those who have built or are building these kits. I had the chance and did see a close up view of the 222 kit and back then I wasn't up to the commitment it required.
