Default Mato Lower Hull Question

Ok, so I have 2 Mato lower hulls for the Sherman sitting here. They come with all wheels but no gearboxes installed. Can anyone tell me what boxes are needed for this thing? I prefer not to buy from Mato as the wait time is insane for delivery. Thanks for any input.

I'd PM Rich Johnson on this. He's had lots of experience with the Mato stuff including marrying various uppers and dealing with clearances in the lower with various gearboxes.

Assuming you mean the plastic hulls, they are bespoke housings using the normal 3 shaft Heng Long gear set. You can fit regular HL's to them, but you'll need to gut the front end and back fill it with milliput or similar to make a base to put them on.

This is exactly why I used a Tamiya lower and mounted the VVSS Mato suspension to it. As crazy as it sounds, it was much easier that way to get the better and more available gearboxes to fit.
