Default Heng Long 1:16 Panzer III lover hull and Mato 1:16 upper hull

How do those fit together?

Easily or do you have to do hardgore sawing and use a lot of putty?

I have bought some time ago Heng Long 1:16 panzer III and I now noticed that Mato Panzer III upper Hull offers much better details.

I thought maybe the two could be connected to each other and get good result.

Mato panzer III upper hull is full metal part.

I think this is a bad idea when you have the plastic lower with the all metal upper. The center gravity will rise and your tank may suffer from rollover easily. Further, Heng Long uses screw to lock upper with lower hull while Mato uses latches at the front and top screw at the rear (PzIII). Unless you get the whole set of Mato's lock mechanics, there's almost no way to fit the two together.

By the way, it's easier to fit Mato's lower with Heng Long's upper as Mato provides the kits. I've just fit my Mato's metal lower with Heng Long's plastic upper Tiger 1.

You're right and the glue does not always work properly if you try to stick the heavy metal piece to the plastic if and when screw fixation does not work.

You have an impressive Pzkpfw VI model.

The weight of the metal upper pushing on the plastic lower is also likely to create a lot of bowing on the lower hull, which will affect how well they fit together. Plastic upper and metal lower seem to work well. I'm not sure the opposite will work well.
