Does the Taigen Metal Panther G use the standard IR elevation and recoil unit? I have a pile of them and was wondering about the ease of changing airsoft to IR. (Taigen has no IR Panther Gs available). Thanks.

I don't think the Panther uses the asiatam IR recoil set-up, it's probably the Heng long version. There's very, very little space in the Panther turret. Imex Erik should know for sure, so maybe he'll look in.

The plastic turret uses the HengLong type with the elevation motor mounted on the side of the turret. I'm not sure about the metal turret.

So, the next question would be the mount. Does it, like the Tiger 1, have a metal plate to mount the unit to? How easy is it to remove the barrel from the airsoft unit? (It will be Tamiya Apple base, so none of that is necessary).
Just interested in a Panther G, but Taigen only has airsoft on sale right now.
