Default What size socket headed cap screw to use as M2 nut driver?

I just ordered some M2 Hex Head Bolts to attach the Mato Sherman idler brackets / tensioners to my plastic-hulled Heng Long Sherman.

I don't want to spend $20 on a set of nut drivers.

Does anyone know what size socket headed cap screw I need to buy to use as a M2 nut driver?

Thanks,
Steve

I don't know if this helps but the Minimum width between the Flats of an M2 Bolt is 3.82mm,
The maximum width between the Flats of an M2 Bolt is 4mm.

If the M2 is 4mm across flats of hex -you'd want an M5 SHCS. The key (hex size) size for M5 is 4mm.

On most M2 bolts it will be a 1.5mm hex bolt. This may be different depending on the type of head of the M2 bolt, it might also be a 2.0mm hex but most likely it is 1.5mm hex if you got a M2 bolt. I'm not 100% positive on the size, this is just going from my experience with M2/M3/M4 hardware that I work and play with.

I got the RC scale M2 bolts today - yes, they measure about 2mm across the flats.

If that's the case then a M2.5 SHCS should work as a driver. Seems odd a 2mm dia screw would have a 2mm flats head - but for "scale" screws probably true. Try M2.5 socket head screw as driver. The hex socket size is 2.02 / 2.08mm for a M2.5 Socket head screw.
