Default Tamiya Traverse Helper

Just sharing for fun! At our last DAK battle we had an interesting 3-D printed part introduced that may help alleviate one "foible" of Tamiya tanks, the traverse unit. The OEM unit is intended to feature a slip gear to prevent damage and is set up to allow a turret to be removed for maintenance etc. As many of us know our first "mod" is to glue this gear to maintain traverse and many of us use a large ZIP TIE to help keep tension when the unit starts to "spread". Travis Bair designs has created a housing that enclosed the traverse and adds a bolt that cab be used as a tensioner. Well done sir! I added one immediately to my Leopard AS1 that had the afore mentioned problems as well as the fact is had cut its own traverse wires as well. Five minutes of work and my tank is back in the fight!!!!!

This looks very similar, if not the same, from May 2018.
I will be printing soon.

Thanks for the post. The one on thingiverse is similar, but has differences. The walls and gusseting in places are thicker. Also doesn't require a nut to hold the bolt in place. I am currently printing more and taking orders. email me if interested. [email protected]
