Where does the Jagdpanther gun recoil?

So does the entire gun move back into the mantlet, or does is the thick part stationary and the thin part slides into the thick part?

If this video is accurate...it looks like similar to how all the other RC tanks fire. From the barrel into the mantlet. The "thick part" IS the mantlet.

No, I meant the thick part of the barrel. That is not the mantlet. The mantlet is the giant cast boot that the barrel sticks out of.

Looks like the fat and skinny part of the barrel move together. This must be the two-part barrel I remember reading they used later in the war, so that the outer part could be replaced when the rifling wore out.
