Default Takom 1/16 Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf A

Another nice release coming from Takom. Will be interested to know if S.K of 35RCTank will follow with a conversion kit. Would be nice to see metal tracks, too.

I like it. I'll keep my eyes open for this one. Agree on the after market accessories; would like metal tracks, sprockets..
Hopefully it has rubber tires. Also hopefully my ham hands can work with something this small...

I forgot to ask- did anyone ever review Takom's 1/16 type 94 kit? I did a quick search on the RCU but nothing came up; perhaps didn't use
the appropriate key words.

Their Type 94 kit appears to be too small & complicated to convert. Been discussed by some guys in our local RC group & thought best left as a static build.

I did the Ausf B which was a bit longer and it really is a tight fit getting the gubbins inside. This was using the gearboxes for the Panda 38(T) and a camera battery because I didn't have anything small enough.

Hmmmm do I sense a disturbance in the Force? A challenge afoot? There are some who've made 1/35 scale RC... is it just that the running gear doesn't
lend itself to conversion? I just ordered one of these. More likely than not it will sit on the great pile of 'maybebuildonedays' but who knows....!
I haven't built anything plastic in probably 10 years, time for a change.

Hey Jerry, was it a pre-order, or are they available now? I thought they weren't going to be on the market until around October. What did I miss? And what was the price?

And Jerry, , compared to your usual scale of tank, this thing must seem like a Matchbox car.

Sorry my statement was vague, I sent off for Takom's 1/16 type 94 kit.... I wanted both it and the PzKw I but as you say I found that the PzKw I isn't quite in the market yet.

I started ages ago with first 1/35 motorized tanks then 1/25 scale; I actually like micro tanks, it's just limited by hands and eyes...

Takom is even going to release a Chinese captured version of the Type 94:

https://www.scalemates.com/kits/tako...kette--1238759

These will be a bit of a challenge to RC. The "DS" type one piece tracks are not as flexible like the old Tamiya one piece vinyl units and the Indy tracks are so small, a jig needs to be devised to drill for link pins.

I was thinking maybe using one of the 1/24 scale RC tanks to attempt this, but stopped working on mine. The temptation of a third Type 94 kit in Chinese markings is tough.

Hi, I did a small review here:
https://radindustries.wordpress.com/2019/08/19/type-94-platoon/

IMHO it does not worth the pain to convert it. The plastic tracks are unusable, the rubber tracks are very fragile. And it is just too tiny. At least for me.

Bummer, just saw that Christian Ludwig suffered a major fire earlier today. My best to him & ability to reopen.

I have one coming. Unfortunately I picked a seller who said they had them but now says they have to wait to get them.
I dislike that sort of BS but they have my dough...

Toro just did something similar to us, they said the new schwimmwagen would be shipped by December 15th and then I got an email saying now they won't ship until late January. I sent them an email and asked for my money back, and they refunded my coin. But I agree with you, Jerry, that's a bunch of crap.

That's why I purchased from an ebay seller who stated ' x in stock/ y sold '
where Y < X and yet they said after the fact they're waiting on them.

That's the sucky part...

I don't have any problem with waiting especially given the price I'm paying here on Taobao.

Mine arrived today & is a nice kit as expected from Takom. Now let's see how this little beast can be converted cheaply by parting out one of my son's toy diggers he has laying around. The tracks in the kit certainly won't last long but see that Asiatam's Opel Maultier tracks will fit so just put in an order. Have been asking around if Spade Ace plans to release a set of metal track for it.

I ordered from another seller in Hong Kong and they had to me in a week and a half; it arrived Friday. I lodged a gripe with ebay and they requested
the original seller give me a refund. Ebay is pretty toothless in this regard. Unfortunately the first seller but 'an expected delivery' of sometime in February
so I might inquire what PayPal can do although with the recent gripe over the 'mystery tank' I don't want to wear out my welcome mat...however I might
lodge a gripe anyway....

It is a very nice kit though.
