Some WIP photos of HL's new KV-2. It's going to remain in this state for now since I got it as a runner for the kids but I do plan to remove the applique armor amid other mods in an attempt to backdate the hull to make it more like the real thing. Not sure how much MEK they used to glue on that armor since its impossible to remove without a saw.

Got the sounds to work after dropping the TX - didn't see that in the manual but now it sounds more like a proper diesel. Will ditch that BB gun & add a muzzle flash.

Other than missing hubcaps for the rollers, overall pleased with the beast.

You could also remove the round barrel cleaning kit from the right side track apron of the tank as the KV-2 didn't use that kit. That is for use with the KV-1 76mm gun.

Without thinking, Heng Long attached the hooks to the tower. They are superfluous

I thought the same thing, but I know why they did it. I'm sure they looked at the pics of the last known KV-2 and saw them in the pics. The museum probably added the hooks to aide in restoring the beast after the war. That's my thinking so I did NOT add them to my KV-2 build.

The history of this KV-2 is very interesting. He participated in the battles, was shot down, sent for repairs, then sent to the city of Magnitogorsk, then sent to Kubinka. And in the sixties it was transferred to the Museum of the Soviet Army. You are completely right, Such hooks were welded for repair and forgot to cut them off.

I was curious why they painted the bolt heads red (for Soviet armor) on all wheels/sprocket?

It 's a mystery shrouded in darkness.
All Red Army tanks were primed with an iron meerkat. It has a red color.

Thanks Artem! Have subscribed to the channel.

Got a fresh coat of paint on its little brother yesterday so now the T-34 looks ready for the Victory Day parade.
