I see where they were going with that, but as the BTR-60 has obviously burned before it was used as a 'lid' for the T55, it probably offers no better protection than an upside down skip by this point...

It's a simple matter of having a worthless T-55 with no turret and a worthless BTR that burned. Put them together and you have a deathtrap that can transport troops without getting shot by AK-47 fire. I think a 12.7 with AP rounds would pen the BTR armor.

Steel cored rounds from an AK would go thru the burned BTR - once armour steel has burned, its not armour anymore
Of course that would assume that the guy with the AK is actually aiming, and not the average insurgent doing a mag dump while holding the thing sideways 'because looks cool'
