RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
So I began assembly by first Reading the Directions and finding all the parts and familiarizing myself with all those international symbols for Glue IT Here!! etc..I get the Hull assembled and then Prime the wheels....Now I of course left out the part about how many pieces are req'd to complete the Hull with all the suspension arms and how many pieces there are to build the road wheels..So then I also leave out the part about getting the torsion system set up...All according to instructions...So I am showing you a BLUR of progress..

RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
Check out this gorgeous aluminum main Gun barrel...Then I assemble the road wheels and the lower hull...Install electronics and wire it up..Add a receiver and button up the tracks...Actually the tracks are very realistic and use pins to hold each section together...I also paint it in Dark yellow as well as the wheels and upper hull and turret which are not visible here...I also assembled many other motors and gadgets that make the upper tank come alive!!!!!! Note all the extra detailed parts that are being painted to be added after the Tank is camo'd...

RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
The King Tiger overall length is 640mm and overall width is 235 mm......It is strong and it has the capacity to climb 45 degree inclines, knock over cars, crawl over lots of terrain, But most importantly Battle other Tamiya Battle System Equipped Tanks...They use an infrared system to fire on each other and register and score HITS...One can set the level of armor on the different types of tanks from light, medium and heavy armor..Each time you get hit the LED's light up and the speaker sounds a boom registering a hit and also your tank slows down slower and slower with each hit and eventually 3,5 7 or 9 hits later you are DEAD and the tank makes a awesome KABOOM!! and the Tank Lurches fwd 2 times and shuts down for 15 seconds before Turning back on... AWESOME...Better than just racing a car around a track...and usually dont break a bunch of parts each time you take it out..like you do on cars...Just my experience...heheheehe ANyhow...It is fun and addicting like all aspects of R/C...

Nice work on the paint scheme. I think I'm gonna try and find a WWII photo of a sherman that has some personalization from its company...I'm still trying to find some spare parts for this Tamiya sherman....

RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
yeah yeah, americans didnt have the best tank....neither did the germans tho that trophy goes to the russians, sadly im having a brain fart atm though and cant remember the name of it. (dad is a history buff and always shoving this stuff down my throat lol)
nice tank though. did you consider throwing a base coat on it before camo? just a thought.

RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
Yeah it has a basecoat....Paint name is dark yellow...or some german name I cant remember how to spell...The Russian Tank was the T-34 and was great,..KT and T1 were usually destroyed more times by themselves when it would break down to keep allies from capturing it while it was down vs by enemy fire...just history,,,,
any how...I should be flanked at the next battle by a Tiger 1 and another KT vs a Pershing, Sherman... I think the Tigers will be dining...

do the R/C tanks handle in same comparison? or does it really not much matter what model you have? that would be cool if they made them on a scale of quality so it was realistic. and yeah the t-34 is what i thought but i wasnt sure

RE: NEW R/C TAMIYA KING TIGER TANK BUILD!!
The tanks are all geared differently so that they do have disadvantages/advantages over each other...Same for the Battle Units...If a SHerman tank was engaging a KT the Sherman could only take 3 shots before being destroyed whereas a KT needed 5-9 hits by the Sherman in R/C Warfare to expire... You can select modes on the Tamiya Battle Unit (TBU) to change from light medium or heavy armor...each requires different #'s of hits...very cool
