Default 1/25 scale Academy King Tiger and Jagdpanzer

I seen two models today made by Academy, both are 1/25 scale, a King Tiger w/drive train and a JagdPanzer with metal wheels and sprockets..

I was wondering what would it take to convert them over to full function RC tanks?

Would I need a upgraded gear box for the King Tiger and where would I get a gear box for the Jagdpanzer?

Electronics as well since I'm a ship/sub man..this is a new relm for me to sail into...(shall I say track into)

Well...

Tamiya did make RC versions of some of the 1/35 models... came with the radio and all. I think Willy Loewer may still have some of the kits, but they are not cheap.

He even has some of the 1/25 kits if I remember correctly... he mentioned having them over in the Marui Tank Group.

Hi Turbo,

I have converted the 1/25th Academy Panther over to RC using the HL electonics.....works well but there is'nt much room for other functions, so it just drives around quite nicely............you could try using a Tamiya 1/35th scale RC King Tiger
and using the electronics in that but I hav'ne done that and they are expensive....around £100 GBP ($160USD) I think....

Good luck & Tally ho.....

you could try pulling the circut boards out of the DMD and MF from 1:16 scale Tamiya shrink wrap them they may then be small enough... you could use a micro servo for elevation.... But thats a lot of money to spend.
