RC Tank Clubs

RE: RC Tank Clubs
I've been thinking about trying to start a local RC tank club for several years, but never got around to being able to devote enough time to actually do it. This year I finally decided to plunge in & will actively try to create more interest in my local area for an infrared 1/24 scale battle tank club. I realize this is not the norm, as it seems 1/16 scale is abundantly more popular if you search the various RC tank forums & internet for existing RC tank clubs, especially for those clubs I've found to have their own websites.
A while ago I might have agreed with those who made blanket statements that the small scale tanks left so much to be desired in quality & detail, that buying one & then having a very bad experience with them may have stopped many potential RC tankers in their tracks , possibly altering their minds into never trying or graduating up to the more expensive larger scale tanks. However, after owning 6 VSTank Pro IR tanks for over 4 years now, I wouldn't agree with that blanket assessment anymore.
I wouldn't be against a mixed club with members having several different scale tanks, but in the beginning I would desire the main support to be for the 1/24 scale. I think the 1/24 scale IR tanks that VSTank & FOV offer now can be extremely fun, with their battlefields & battles providing as much fun as any interested RC tanker might crave if they are done right, & at a very discounted price compared to those encountered with 1/16 scale tanks & battlefield accessories. At the very least the 1/24 scale certainly can be a great stepping stone for those not knowing if they could become totally committed to the hobby or 100% sure that RC tanking is for them at all, so they could test the RC tank battle experience before committing to very expensive IR 1/16 battle tanks & battlefields.
So with that warped thinking & rationalization, I created a new website & will be actively seeking new members who have as similarly warped minds as my own!

RE: RC Tank Clubs
Merry Xmas,
I'm just a 74 yr old beginner who just bought a new taigen Tiger I. I love it, and it works fine. I have 2 questions.
1- can I reduce the speed? The company that makes it put the wrong instruction book in the box.
2- how do I lower the sound? The book listed noise reduction as a feature.

Thank u Buckeye for the pics. The tank looks great. I'm looking to build an rc tank. U have any suggestions? Remember, I'm 74, and just beginning. Thanks for all your help.

RE: RC Tank Clubs
What do u suggest? I would like something I could update while building. I like the heavy models. (More metal, and a slower motor. 3.1). Tanks don't fly like the one I have.
Thanks again for ur help. If I'm annoying, let me know.

RE: RC Tank Clubs
Hello,
I am looking for a club/group related to RC Tanks in the Martinsburg, WV area. I am brand new and looking at buying a Heng Long or something... but would
love to find a club in my area. Or even some other people just interested in maybe forming our own club.
I have tried to sort through this topic but with no luck.
Thanks
UPDATE:
I still have not found anyone in my area that is interested in RCtank warfare. Iwill leave my email address if your in the Eastern Panhandle of WV drop me a email.
[email protected]
Thanks
