Put a turret on it and you might have something. It's FUTUR-IS-TIC-----
The jeep works pretty much like a tank, even has a working air-soft gun like the tanks.Free floating steering on the fron't axle which works perfect in forward, but will get out of place in reverse. It was fun to make though. BIGMIG

Before you make some off the wall comments you might go check out "DIGGER HISTORY" and look at where a lot of the Idea's came from for the very tanks you are building today. And there are some that was pretty close to the picture you posted. And you may also check out some of the more modern fighting vehicles built long after world war II---Even you may learn a thing or two.

Returning to the half-track, would there be any reason why you couldn't raise the line of the idler at the rear a little, make it look a bit more like the original?

Talk about non-existing Fantasy Tanks...
Look at this..
http://www.tanksandtrolls.co.uk/Panzerzerstorer.htm
Theres no way this Panzerzerstorer could be a real tank? Or am I mistaken...
Very nice site.

Yeah, with all do respect, the "Fantasy tank" posting of projects should have it's own forum or be placed in the Sci-Fi section.
This is about actual tanks and vehicles that can or are RC controled. No 1/35th plastic models or putting a turret on a truck, that is all well and good, but it doesn't belong here.
I wouldn't want to go look at produce at the grocery store but then have to sort through a bunch of automotive parts to get to it.

If you want to be really picky, all of the things that appear on here are fantasy and deviate to a greater or lesser extent from being perfect scale reproductions of originals (if you recall some of my earliest posts, I was Mr Picky know-it-all about accurate reproduction of originals against you who said I was quibbling over 'features'). We seem to have changed sides somewhat
b.
there are '1/35 scale plastic models' that are radio controlled.
c.
The forum says R/C tanks. I'm happy to talk about half-tracks, but they aren't tanks, so it is a bit rich in a thread that is already deviating from the stated forum description to start fussing about the purity of the forum (these things are all toys - we aren't curing cancer here).
d. to return to the thread and the question I asked earlier, is there any reason why the idler a the rear couldn't be raised a bit, to make the half-track look more like the original (see, I'm getting obsessive over accuracy again)?
regards
Geoff

I'm merely pointing out that if you want to put a tank turret on a truck that never was, fine. [sm=lol.gif]

Hi caragan1970
The Pantherzerstorer is a paper panzer it was designed by Krupp in November 1944 as a replacement for the Jagdpanther but they decided not to make a prototype it was to be armed with a 12.8cm Pak 80 L/55 but it used two part ammunition which was considered to slow to reload for a tank destroyer and the fighting compartment would only have limited space and overall the weight of the vehicle would be too heavy (estimated at 51 tons)
Still a cool looking tank destroyer although the exhausts on that model seem to be in the wrong place compared to the plans drawn up by Krupp
Cheers Ian

For $300 dollars you could build it your self $60 dollars for the academy bits another say $100 for the evergreen and maybe plans if you can't get em free and a bit of time
Just my thoughts if you've got the cash go for it

It's clearly for those that don't have the time or access in building something like this. I wouldn't mind seeing some clearer pictures. It really doesn't look too hard to build.

Luckily its an Ausf D... Ausf C had even more bends and angles.... or for those "mission-impossible" types you could go Ausf C riveted version

Why not just get a 1/18 Ultimate Soldier Sdkfz 251 and make it R/C. I think that would be your best bet and a heck of lot cheaper. I know some of the guys here have done it. They have 3 versions that I know of. "Stuka Zu Fuss" with rocket launchers, standard half track and the one with the mounted Pak 40 cannon.

Hey BigMig, I have to agree with you! While I like all my tanks to be about the same size, I myself have departed from the "norm" and built some pretty wild heli's and cars just for a new project! I LIKE your hummer too! Is it R/C capable? Wanna' sell it? It looks Great to me. ...Jerry

Hello Jerry,
Got your PM,but will answer it here.Wow this is an old post-
I had a lot of fun building my tracked version's of the hummer's.I did two of them and yes they are both RC.One has the very same features and controls as the HL S&S tank , (that is what they came out of) and one has the non S&S HL controls and guts.(also the controls came out of a HL tank). They are one of a kind and no they are not for sale (but I thank you for asking ).I still look in on this forum on occasion but rarely post here unless I see something of interest on the bigger scale tanks (my favorite's being the 1/6 or larger models). It was allways fun to try my hand at changing a non tracked vehicle into one with tracks, but met a lot of oposition here on this forum.
