Default New Heng Long release dates

Hello everyone,

While answering to an inquiry I had about their products, Mato has replied to me that they should be able to stock the new Heng Long releases (Panzer IV and PZ III ausf N) at the end of Feb 2008. Looks like I'll be having Christmas in February!!

Just hope they aren't being overly optimistic... at least we know those factories are over there, somewhere, churning out HL's

About the PZ III ausf N, besides the short barrel, are there any other major differences (accuracy wise) between that and the previous ausf L release? I've only seen 1 pic of the new tank so can't remember minor details...

My wifes birthday is the end of February too. I bet she really wants a PZIV instead of jewelry. [sm=72_72.gif]

The Pz III ausf N had the short GP 75mm gun, "taucher" or fording muffler sitting up high on the back. (I missed this in my conversion and it was pointed out to me by one of our members.) Also the TC hatch is the single piece hatch cover. I moved some other stuff around, like spare wheels and more track hanging from the bow, just to make it look a bit different. (going from archival photos).
It's nice to have other variants. I also added some turret schurtzen from a Century 21 Pz IV. Some of the ausf N and M's were fitted as flame throwers, and that's the next project.

Bill, as for the history of the PZIII, most Ausf Ns were converted from Ls, and a couple of Js. There were a few converted from Ms and those would have the high mount muffler in the back.

Now, as for Heng Long, Does anyone have a picture of or information about an "N" coming out? I heard about the "H" but not the other.

I just cant wait to start digging into making a Panzer IV L/70. I have the stug already so for something else different thats the way to go . an A/A pz IV is a simple matter of making the turret parts to mount onto a flat plate on the turret ring.

Or one could do the ultra rare but still made Pz IV chassis with a pedistal mounted 88 on it.

That AA model was a Whirbelwind. I used to tear those things up in my P-47 over Aachen in Jane's WW2 Fighters! Of course they got me too! [:@]

There were numerous Flakpanzer IV models: the Mobelwagen (early with quad-2cm flakvierling, later it used a single 3.7cm flak - fold-down box superstructure), Ostwind (single 3.7cm in open-roof turret), Wirbelwind (quad-2cm in open roof turret) and the rare Kugelblitz (dual-3cm in enclosed turret)

Are there any other Heng Long releases planned? How about a Sherman, or a T34?

Either of them would certainly be a welcoming addition to everyone's workbench I'm sure. Personally, I'd love for HL to release a new T-34 especially since the old WSN's are so hard to find...

P.S: I did send an e-mail inquiry to Heng Long on this subject today, I'm still awaiting their response however.

Fingers crossed!!!

Very much doubt they'll do a T-34 where theres already a "cheap" T-34 on the market. Sure, the old "WSN" T-34/85 is hard to find, but the IR "Torro" version is very much in full production
