RE: Survey for Mr. Tamiya
Ok Ripperuton,
Here is my revised selection, keeping it simple and concise:
M4A2 Sherman III
This is the basic 75mm, VVSS, welded hull version. This keeps a maximum of the exsisting parts valid so engineering and new tooling are kept to a minimum. I figure the Third party/Aftermarket guys can take care of the rest.

RE: Survey for Mr. Tamiya
I know my votes won't count (starting to sound like an election!) as I'm one of the few who would vote for Semovente! (as variants of it could be made for M13/40, M11/39, and possibly some others).
My Vote:
1. PzKw 38t (Hetzer, Marders, etc. could be made of this chassis)
2. Semovente or M13/40
3. Japanese Type 97
If I could pick more... I'd choose some French models ie. S-35 Somua, Char B1 bis, Hotchkiss H-39...

RE: Survey for Mr. Tamiya
Yeah thats why I declined from having Panzer II or 38t/Hetzer in my original selections, they're just too small to incorporate the regular Tamiya parts (trying to keep it modular, maximizing part interchangeability), as the harder it is to achieve, the less likely it will be attempted.

RE: Survey for Mr. Tamiya
I think LiPo batteries and shrinking the blackbox a little make things like the Semovente and Hetzer possible for Tamiya. I think fans of the Italian tanks are small in number despite the large role they played in the North African campaign right up to the end. They also served on the Russian front and Italy. In the end, it would be second last tank they would RC, the last would be any japanese tank :P

Yeah I figure it wouldn't be feasible... however, Tamiya does make other gearboxes (like the ones people are using for modding their half tracks... and I'm using the same in my FT-17) and they have a setting for light tanks on their battle system. They should simply disable this feature all together if they don't plan on producing a light tank!

I am bringing this survey to a close soon, so anyone who hasn't voted or would like to modify their vote should do so in the next couple of days.

Understood. Next time for the Chaffee, it has market success written all over it.
My Revised Votes:
1. M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo 75mm gun (followed by a U.S. Tank Destroyer M10)
2. Mk VIII, Cromwell (A27M) (The Comet like the Pershing was probably not involved in any major WWII battles)
3. JS-II Russian heavy tank
Post War MBT:
1. Abrams M1A2 SYSTEM ENHANCEMENT PACKAGE (SEP): http://www.army-technology.com/projects/abrams/

If this vote holds any sway then it looks ike it may be the Abrams at last and what a top model that will be and I can only imagine the sound of that turbine recording firing up...

Tamiya shouldn't leave out all the HL and El Mod troubled geared conversion guys either (or what the heck they are called) and the PE shelf queen and or the contest table builder types (sorry about that).

Yes, as perfect as the Tamiya DMD/TBU world is, bring back the static Tamiya 1/16 big tank series, thats how I made the jump from 1/35 armor.
