Quick PZIII mods.
I've done some quick mod's to my PZIII to make it a better runner.
Moved all switches and covered the holes and coverd the suspension holes-
I've made gearbox covers out of a bit of tin, ditched the smoker and moved things around inside. I added a bigger heatsink and a fan to the drive transistors. The ON/OFF switch and volume control have been moved to underneath the acces hatches on the rear deck. Also filled in the rear vents with plasticard to make it more water tight.
The top left switch is for the lights (no point having lights on during the day) which'll save battery power.
I haven't done much to the outside yet because my Tiger was in need of some anti personel support.

Thanks
The PzIII is a great little runner. I waiting to get the other metal parts before I do any major modifications.
The Tiger is still going strong after two years (yet to blow a board).

RE: Quick PZIII mods.
The HL pz3 is still my favourite!
Be sure to get the metal suspension, arm and idler + return roller upgrade. It makes a HUGE difference to the look and feel of the tank. I assume you're going to paint it?
I also sealed in the battery on mine and added a charger port on the back. I hope this isn't a stupid question but is there an easy way to turn off the headlights?

I'm going to paint it once I've added all the other metal bits.
I'm going to add a rubber seal to the battery compartment to make it watertight. I want to be able to easily swap batteries. The Battery for my tiger is buried inside the tank with a recharge socket at the back but the problem is that when the battery runs down and I want to swap batteries then I have to take the tank apart or I have leave the tank on charging.
The LED switch is just a simple ON/OFF switch on one of the wires going to the LED's.

Wozwasnt,
On the PZIII how did you remove the engine covers themselves. Straighforward? What holds the covers on after the mod?
After looking at your link I was interested in the internal arrangements of your components. Was your PZIII an S&S? If so did you ditch the smoker?
Thanks

The covers snap on and off. To make removal easier to access the switches, I flattend out one sides tab so they'll still grip and stay put, yet make it easy to remove.
