What Everyone Needs For Their Tanks
Here's something we should all have for our tanks for that realistic driving experience http://www.hobby-lobby.com/fpv.htm

WOW, so cheap!
People were getting the same type of system from a cheap RC car that had a mini camera with headset, it was priced well

Really a great idea...should be a mandatory item for IR tank combat. [>:]`It would sure teach many what tank combat is really like when you don't have the advantage of an aerial view to peek at what's over the next hill or across town, out of what would normally be out of any tank crew's visual possiblity.[&:] Driver and TC`should have them. This would really add a touch or realism to the IR battles, demand teamwork, strategy, coordination of units and teach a hard lesson to a lot of "veteran" IR tankers..

Only problem is that those "El Cheapo" 2.4 GHz systems are usually limited to 4 channels...

I used to see those glasses (that type) for about $120 on the auction site. Worked with different wireless cameras.

Thanks for that! Also note that none of them actually participate in IR battles...[X(]

yeah, a bit pricey....but the idea and possibilities are great. My little mini cam and portable 4x6 screen TV does a nice job in the driver's hatch of my Stuart. All run by 9v batteries and does great, and cost me under $85 for everything. Mini cam=Ebay TV=Radio Shack. No way to get two in a 1;16 tank but I am thinking of trying one in the turret and enlisting a driver..

I bet you were - anything to turn this into a "us vs them" argument, like every other damn thread...

It is a nifty idea, but not practical at this time from my point of view. Your mileage may vary.

They make 'video games' that are more realistic Adrian, but for Radio Control it just isn't practical. But of course, you gotta try it first before you fix it.
Your language and attitude is totally uncalled for.

In this case it's "You have more Tamiya tanks than I do".

RE: What Everyone Needs For Their Tanks
You can get this setup for a looooot less
You need these:
http://tiny.cc/KmbX3
And one of these sets:
http://tiny.cc/SkQf5
And you are done.
I ran one of my Panthers with this same wireless camera (without the googles) and my very first attempt yeilded this video( captured directly to my pc):

So it is very doable for a lot less...

RE: What Everyone Needs For Their Tanks
Geez I didn't think this gadget was going to cause such a debate. Just thought it would be cool to have one of these with the goggles for a tank since they worked so good for RC airplanes. Maybe next time I see something cool just keep my trap shut and save all the big debate

Sorry pzrwest, looks like only one person is able to voice their opinion. It's funny I went months without my signature and had no problems, but as soon as I re-instated it, the envy starts to flow once again.
This will be my last post on this thread. The BS will end.
