Tamiya German grey alternative
Hey
Just wondering if anyone has an alternative for Tamiya German grey spray paint.
ALL the tamiya spray paiints where recalled in the EU due to lead poisoning (probably not dangerous just silly EU laws) and ebay doesnt have any.
so does anyone know a good alternative colour that is very similar to the german grey, spraypaint preferable but i dont mind brush painting it on if its in a pot.

Don't know where you got your information from but you are wrong, Tamiya spray paint is freely available across Europe the wording on the can was wrong so all that happened was they stuck a sticker with the correct wording to the cellophane wrapper hear in England this is unacceptable hence why you cant get the stuff in England, I used to live in Brussels and the nearest Tamiya importer was Germany the wording on the cans was either in French or Flemish and the Germans had no problems supplying various countries with there own language stickers, what you could do is ask one of the European members to get some for you I used to do this for some of the guys hear and had no problems with the postage.

The Belgians weren't into Internet and didn't see the point in having a web site but the Germans are a different story what I would do is a search on Google "Tamia spray paint" French = Tamiya vaporisent la peinture, German = Tamiya zerstäuben Farbe, one of these two should come up trumps you just have to use a decent translation engine to help you order on line or you could get in touch with one of the guys from BTN who may help or there may be other European members who can help on this site.
Next time you go into your model shop ask him why it's freely available else where or give the Hobby company a bell and ask them why they cant stick a label on the tin like other country's

RE: Tamiya German grey alternative
This maybe a really daft question.
Does anyone have any Halfords grey primer to test against the German Grey?
I was going to go for a whitewashed Tiger and thought about using the Halfords Primer as the base, then afterwards sealing grey+white with a dulcoat.
