Default 1/16 and 1/14 Scale Military Vehicles

Hey All,

Well I jumped into the whole RC Tank biz kind of head first. I purchased an HL Snow Leopard and while its expected to arrive tomorrow I decided to go ahead and get the HL Tiger 1 with metal tracks, wheels, and gears. I plan on detailing both tanks starting with the Tiger while I play around with the Snow Leopard. While researching parts and accessories I noticed that there are little to no other military vehicles (models or RC's) that are in the 1/14 or 1/16 scale. I thought it would be cool to have a tank hauler that looked like it was from the WWII era and maybe a Deuce and Half truck. I found this site ([link=http://www.gardentrucking.com/index.tpl?cart=12265123377322782]GardenTrucking[/link]) which sells a great variety of trucks and trailers but nothing looks like it comes from the same era as the two tanks. Additionally I don't even know if they had tank haulers back in the 40's. I thought about ordering just a truck chassis and then finding a plastic model in the same scale to fit onto the chassis but have kind of come up empty. Do or have you guys any experience with other military vehicles that are in or close to the same scale as these 1/16 tanks?

Thanks in advance!

The Army had the M-25, later updated to M-26 "Draggin Wagon" in mid-late WW II, which was a lightly armored semi cab designed for retreiving tanks. It could operate as a tow truck or use the matching trailer if the tank could not be towed. The mid 50's we had the M-62 5 Ton wrecker which, modified, was used through the 1990s. Early WW II any heavy flatbed truck was used due to the light weight of the tanks then. A couple guys at Danville just made a couple neat 1;16 RC Draggin Wagons, so you might want to contact HEAT for what they used. Good luck.

Thanks PattonComander. I saw a pic of that M 26 while surfing the web but didnt know what it was called. After searching around I found someone that is currently in the middle of a build. [link=http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24123]M26[/link] Ill have to watch this guys build and take notes. I don't know if this is a project I want to do right away since I have my 2 new tanks to take care of.
