More King Tiger upgrades...machine gun head light
got a led machine gun and a metal headlight today, wired them up to my heng long wiring and they work great have a look at the pics. I decided not to try and mount the recharge socket and switch external. The turret comes off so easy and is linked via a cable to operate the gun elevator, so i put the switch just inside the turret ring attached to the side of the body, and ran the recharge wire from the switch and when in use i tuck it away under the top of the body out of the way.....its all coming together now. Just need to get some metal mudflaps with mounts (if anyone knows where to get any from) then i can start and paint.......

RE: More King Tiger upgrades...machine gun head light
thanks brel, Ive completely stripped out the tamiya gear and fitted aftermarket bits. its a little tight inside but the RX14 board is cooled nicely, and the impact gearboxes are running OK. Ive been told by a supplier that they will quiet down after use, and as long as i keep them lubricated, they should last a long time.
I was going to scrap this KT as the old twin clutch setup, well, it did what i supposed to do, but i couldn't control the speed correctly, but now its a breeze, correct scale speed and runs on grass no problem. I just hope i don't mess up when it comes to painting, never painted something this big before.
I would like to spend a fortune on it, with all the metal bits, but the eagle eyed wife is watching.....LOL....
I still cant get over the gun fire recoil, it nearly wheelies...!!!!!! i fitted the RX14 board to my Tiger 1 and that's the same, with the RX13 boards they hardly jump.....who knows, i may upgrade with the elmod system in the future, but theirs not much room left as the turret turn gear is massive on the old KT model and takes up a lot of room, unless i can get some laptop speakers which are tiny and link 4 together under the hull so i can get rid of the large speaker just behind the motors, that would give me space......ah one thing at a time....
thanks to everyone who has posted comments and help, without your help i would have chucked it and wasted my money.
thanks again
