hey guys, i wanted to upgrade the gun spring. when i put it back together the gun stopped working?
man these things are finicky, hooked the motor up to separate power source and it works huh?

I just spent half my Saturday figuring out the same problem. I had to replace the upper harness as it appeared that something at that point was reducing the voltage. You could cut the wires that power the gun from the bottom harness and bypass that connection.

thanks for reply, since my post i re soldered the power wire, still no go? so playing with my separate power source
and i'm thinking its a bad ground?
i don't understand how the motor ground works with no wire?
did you replace all the wires in the turret?
did you bypass the safety switch?

I replaced the upper harness (had to resolder all the wires from the old one) I guess you could bypass the power switch (never thought about that to reduce the number of junctions) and the lost voltage

RE: need hl gun motor help...
ok so, if i run extra wire from the firing light (black wire) to the motor ground the motor responds.
now wondering if i can make that permanent or will it make more problems?
when i did this the motor seemed to run fast but i really don't know.
or should i remove the light and connect the black wire directly to the motor??
any help greatly appreciated

You don't need the warning light in the mantlet. You can remove that. there should be three wires going into the turrel. (not including the thin machine gun wires) One directly the the upper gun motor terminal, One directly the the gun elevation motor, and the red one to the power switch. Thats the one that can be modified to reduce any drain on the power. You may also have a weak gun motor,

thanks guys for your help. i ended up eliminating the light and running the ground directly to the motor.
