HL Panther G ????????

RE: HL Panther G ????????
Wow, looks good (except the paint job IMO). Could you give us the link to where this is shown please.
Nvm, it's talked about here:
http://www.rctankwarfare.com/Forums/...ic,1908.0.html
And I believe that they got it from RCCOMMAND's Gallery here:
http://www.rccommand.com/new_gallery.php?gallery=tanks
Just look for it and it'll be there.
So the question is what does Bill know about this picture?

Yep, it's true and yes, that image is from our site's gallery. I was wondering how long it would take to be noticed and mentioned. Took about 7 days[]
It's still in the early stages but will be coming. My hope is 6-8 months. Like the Stug III, Jagdpanther and KV-1, we'll share the information here as soon as we have it.

Very nice... now if HL can only steal some of the airbrush painters away from VS Tank it would be awesome! Where do they get those colors?!
Maybe the KT won't be my next purchase... I always liked the Panther but could not bring myself to get a PanTiger [sm=confused_smile.gif]
Bill... if you have any input tell them to sell just a solid tan or gray and it would look 100% better!

I totally understand that - i was contemplating the Tamiya, but now
So many tanks, so many mods, this is great from HL.

Was looking at this on Bill's gallery and also noticed a stock Henglong Panzer III with what appears to be a LED at the end of the barrel. Is this a RX18 IR combat Panzer III I'm looking at?

Yet another Tamiya rip-off. Why can't HL put something out original again like the PIV, PIII and the Stug?
Everyone is screaming for MORE Allied tanks and here is something that's once again already out, and it's a German tank on top of all that.

RE: HL Panther G ????????
from a financial stand point this is a smart move
they have the existing molds from the pantiger to use for part of it and the jagdpanther molds for the rest leaving them only to produce a new upper hull mold and they have a quality tank in 1/16 to take sales away from tamiya
which is im sure what they intended
and with the high costs of tamiya tanks these are a cost affective alternative that will introduce more people to the hobby

Well, maybe. Those that wouldn't buy the Tamiya Panther will indeed have a Panther, but why not another type of Panther? The A was used more and is most common of Panthers. But I guess since their Jagdpanther came out ... why not. I'm just tired of seeing the same thing coming out by both. It would be like Ford and GM (well, not now) producing the same Mini-Van. Boring.

That being said, I would have preferred a Panther A (with Zimmerit coating) as well.

The Panther G was the most produced and common variant....not the A.

I wonder how bubbajoe's Panther D turned out?

RE: HL Panther G ????????
Notice I didn't say produced, maybe I should have said the most seen in books and movies. At least when I think of a Panther it's a Panther A with zimmerit.
Allot of the early Panther G's were shipped with Zim coating and no chin mantle (they often get mistaken for A's in books).
The Tamiya and upcoming HL look to be modeled after a very late variant.
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

RE: HL Panther G ????????
Yea ... I know the difference between an A and an early G. [sm=lol.gif] Trust me.
But about that gift horse. I can see why a G but man it wasn't the only Panther made and they cannot be easily modified to an earlier version like other tanks can.
I might get one (the HL) and finally build that Panther F. The prototype that is based on a G chassis. Maybe two and build a Coellian and use the turrets as Pillbox defense?

I CAN'T WAIT! When it's ready I am going to get this one. Heck I will have to get the Sherman the KV1 and the Panther! I like the paint job on the Panther. Hmmm that will bring me up to 14 Tanks and counting... God.. I love it!

RE: HL Panther G ????????
Sold my 2 HL Pantigers almost a year ago, just was not happy with their shape and therefore resented them taking up room I could not spare. Need a couple of Panthers to balance up the collection, just hope by Christmas our Australian dollar will look good against the USD, was 98c in the dollar 8 months ago and got as low as 62c, trading currently at 70c. Makes a big difference especially with increased postage being half of the cost of a tank.
