Default Schumo-Kits Tiger I Metal Tow Cable Holder Set

Hi,

I am thinking of upgrading my Tamiya Tiger 1 with Schumo-Kits Tiger I Metal Tow Cable Holder Set.

Has anyone used this upgrade and how is it installed- do you need to cut away part of the hull?

Cheers

Simon

You should in future just ask the question. The Schumo kit is a bolt on, available here:

If you are in UK as I think you are I'm sure the UK boys will tell you where to get them a tad closer than New Jersey.

If you think that is a ripoff wait till you see the prices of the rest of the Schumo and AFV-Model upgrade parts!

You could make them functional using these .80 wing-nuts and .80 screws or bolts. Here is the link to the vender that sells them 6th Scale Icons. I have a set and they are close enough to 1/16 to work. See the comparison to the 1/16 scale photo etch wing-nuts in the photo. http://www.6thscaleicons.com/

These items are well worth the price if you want high detail parts. Would hardly call it a ripoff

Personally spending 1/4 of the entire price I paid for my imex all metal tiger towards these little pieces is just lunacy. Do I want them YES are they worth it, I guess that's up to the individual .

I take it your all metal Tiger came without these parts.

It’s sad to confuse quality limited run parts made in Germany to mass produced pot metal made in China

Id say more workmanship went into the tow cables and smoke launchers and barrel that came with the model then some tiny straps of metal with some wing nuts that's not even functional.

I wouldn't discount the imex all metal tiger as a cheap heng long. If you own oned you'd know where I'm coming from.

I have one it's, it's not a henglong but it's no where near the quality of the schumo stuff. FYI I scratch built the cable holders etc using the schumo screws. Cost couple £ in materials and £10 of butterfly screws. When painted you will struggle to tell the difference.

I agree, no where near the quality of Schumo or Aber parts. I have plenty of experience with both, these parts and the ones in your photos. Just speaking the truth. Again, you have to be happy with it.
