RX 18 Board (Airsoft or IR?)
I have a 2 tanks using the RX18 board. One is a Stug and its an IR tank. The other is a Jagdpanther and its an airsoft. Does anyone know how th RX 18 Board knows that's its an airsoft version and therefore eliminates the tank from kicking back when the left stick is pushed up? (or am I missing something)

The IR-recoil version has a normally open contact switch which is closed by the recoiling barrel, also activating the muzzle led.
If it was possible to connect a similar switch to the airsoft unit you could get the same effect on an airsoft tank too.

I thought the tanks recoiled no matter what you version you had?

They do when you press K buttom both versions recoil just like the old HL tanks!

Actually, I'm looking for the opposite effect. I'm want to convert an IR Stug into an airsoft tank. So what you are saying that is if I take an IR bottom (with RX 18 Board) and put a airsoft tank's top, when I fit the left stick there should be no recoil? I will try that today.

I tried it and it works. The RX18 (IR) has 2 harnesses that go to the turret, one for the typical airsoft tank's functions, the other specific to IR functions. so remove the IR harness and the tank does not jump backwards when you lift the left stick. Now I can covert IR tanks with out concerning myself about that

Thats interesting to know as I have been thinking about getting the FO Pershing turret from Bill for my sons Pershing. I can use the IR and he could switch turrets for the airsoft.

I just got my hands on a KV1 IR version. I was easily able to pull out the IR from the turrel and install an airsoft gun/ Everything there including the bb feed tray.
