Never been much of a detail modeler so my paint skills aren't too good but I like the way this came out Need to take better pictures since these came out looking rather Blue instead of Gray. lol if it looked any more Purple in these pics I would expect Barney to pop out of it.

Heng long non S&S Airsoft, Matto metal tracks, idlers, drive wheels, upgraded to S&S RX18, 80mm Fan wired at the on/off switch located above the caseless RX18 [ I wanted good air circulation throughout the entire hull & I got it ] + HL Infared Battle System. Battery Box partially removed + RTB sealed lower hull, 1 Lb of Pennies per side. Now weighs in at 7 LBS.

Hulu,

I like your tank very much. But, please do not paint the rubber tires the same as the tank. Flat black or something like it. Mud even. And the spare wheels should be black as well. Nice camo job...Bob

Nice work HondaBob. Did you modify your commander's cupola? It looks like it's lined up correctly?

The Panzer 3 commander's cupola has five viewing ports. I’ve noticed some Pz3’s have the cupola inadvertently backwards, which is easily remedied by twisting to unlock the small tabs, lifting straight up, then putting the cupola back on in the correct orientation (with a viewing port forward) by dropping it straight down and twisting to lock the tabs. Easy peezy lemon squeezy!

I pretty much finished my PZIII recently. I don't know, there's still a few little tweaks I might still do, but mostly it's done. Thought I'd post a few photos. I have a more complete photo gallery available here: [link=http://rcphotos.ishouldntwonder.com/galleries.asp?albumid=17&albumpage=1]PZIII Photo Gallery[/link].

This is a Heng Long, with Asiatam metal hull, road wheels, and tracks. Other little doo-dad upgrades here and there too. Paint was done almost exclusively with Vallejo Model Air and MIG Pigments. I took as my inspiration the work of Mig Jimenez, who in my opinion is the present world-master of model detailing. I am nowhere near his level of expertise but I think having his high standard to shoot for got me farther than I would have otherwise. You can see some of Mig's work at his blog, [link=http://migjimenez.blogspot.com/]check it out here.[/link]

Looks great, Duke. Nice work on the rear deck tow cables and cargo carrier. HL's PZIII becomes such a great looking tank when a little detailing is done to it. The toy look disappears completely.

Congrats,

Mike.

Thanks guys for the kind words. Mike, you will recall it was your photos many months ago that encouraged me to try deforming my fenders, and after paint, I'm real pleased with how they turned out.

I was looking for info on installing the PZ III track tensioners when I came across this thread. Oh what beautifull tanks.
