Happy Thanksgiving
Hi all,
Just wanted to wish you all a Happy and safe Thanksgiving. I know this is an American holiday, but for me it's a great reminder that we should reflect on our lives and all the things we have to be thankful for. 2009 was definitley a challenging year for me personally, the down economy, I was recovering from emergency spinal surgery, nealry lost my mom to cancer, got divorced, lost my job, and my teenaged daughter totalled my car.
But I'm thankful, I live in a free country, I still have my health, my mom is doing great, found the love of an incredible woman, have several prospective job opportunities, my daughter wasn't hurt in the accident, and perhaps most importantly I have a lot of good friends in my life. And although I have not met some of you face to face, I feel like I have a network of friends here on this great forum................................and for that I am thankful!
I wish you all a very happy and safe holiday season, whether you celebrate this holiday or not!

And a very special thank you and prayer goes out to those men and women in our armed forces who are away from their families, and are risking their lives to protect our freedom and the freedom of others in the Middle East and around the world.

Happy Thanksgiving...or..."Tanksgiving"..gentlemen (and ladies)..and I would like to extend the well wishes to all of our brother tankers north and south of the border and across BOTH ponds east and West..

Happy American Thanksgiving (we had ours a month ago) to all of you US Tankers!

Despite all the hardships that my own family has weathered this year, we too give thanks to God on this day as the Pilgrims did so many years ago. Each day that I wake and spend watching my children grow is a blessing as are each of you, my fellow tankers! God Bless you all and have a wonderful feast with your families!
George Washington's Thanksgiving Proclamation
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."
